Commercial Description:
Editor's note: Yes, the bottle calls it a hefeweizen. The beer, however, is brewed with a (fairly hefty) portion of lemongrass, which contributes a significant aroma and flavor. Thus we have deemed it a Spice/herb/vegetable and not a German Hefeweizen, which should be free from adjuncts (other than hops).

Bottle Hazy straw pour with no head. Wheaty and lemony aroma and flavor. Definitely a spice rather than hefe. Decent brew, but not really my style.

Bottle and draft. Grassy, yeasty, and wheaty with weird metalic bitter finish.

12 oz. bottle from the Summer Sampler Pack, picked up in North Carolina on my last road trip thru there. Although labeled a hefeweizen, it definitely does not have the usual lingering cloudiness that hefes have. Aroma is all lemongrass, taste is nice and easy to drink, but nothing really that special. I wouldn’t turn down a free one.

aroma of banana/hefe, taste of lemon/citrus, no real hefe taste at all, more disappointing than enjoyable

Found in the fridge of my wife’s second cousin in Syracuse, NY. Pours hazy golden brown with an itty-bitty head. Smells like a Weizen beer. Sip it slow, and you can taste a hint of banana. Mostly wheaty in flavor, but with a little Bit-O-Honey aftertaste. Actually, it’s not a great hefeweizen, but it is very nice for what it is. Whatever that may be.

Pours hazy golden with a fully receding off-white head. Aroma of lemongrass, herbal citrus, yeasty alefruits. Taste is citric, orange, bitter and herbal. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly acidic with spritzy carbonation. Drinkable, but kind of messy and I didn’t care for the lemongrass.

Cloudy orange color with a small amount of white head. Lots of sediment. Spicy aroma, mostly citrus. Lemony flavor with a hint of malt. More like a wine cooler than a beer, but drinkable.
