Commercial Description:
Editor's note: Yes, the bottle calls it a hefeweizen. The beer, however, is brewed with a (fairly hefty) portion of lemongrass, which contributes a significant aroma and flavor. Thus we have deemed it a Spice/herb/vegetable and not a German Hefeweizen, which should be free from adjuncts (other than hops).

I really enjoy this beer however the two times that i have gotten a case and drank it i have become sick. This may be due to the acidity of the beer or a flavoring in it that didnt agree with my stomach. Also, it should be noted that none of the other people sharing my case became sick. That being said the beer is excellent and i would recommend drinking one or two if you get a chance.

tap: Murky orange with blah lacing. Aroma has some tart wheaty notes with lemons and also some malt sweetness. Some banana notes as well. Very sweet for the style. Not really true to the style, but then again it’s not even in the style here. Drinkable, somewhat enjoyable... but probably not again.

Hoppy pale ale aroma, with orange undertones. Cloudy amber pour with a medium head. Tastes of hops and maybe celery. Weak lemon peel finish.

MY BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT FROM MAGIC HAT. I AM SURE I WILL TRY IT AGAIN ONE DAY AND AT THAT TIME I MAY BE INTO DIFFERENT TYPES OF BREW. NOT ENOUGH OF ANYTHING GOING ON TO SPEAK OF. DECENT BODY, REFRESHING AND CLEAN TASTING. ALTHOUGH IT IS A TOUCH WATERY.

Always a pleasure to try something "new" from the Burlington ladies and gents...pours fizzy to the point of oral effervescence, two-finger head in weizen glass...left no trace in a swift evaporation...an eerie tawny golden funnel cloud centered in its slightly opaque clarity....like its namesake, quite odd...lemony scent with some clove notes...six-month storage may have something to do with all this....but malty? flattened mouthfeel, straight to throat flow; thus, refreshing yet absent from any distinction...I bet a lemon or orange BlueMoons this into some summer fun... straight-up in May, this Magic Hat leaves me feeling ordinary...

Pours yellow with white head. Aroma very bland. Taste is lemony, slight banana and yeast. It really doesn’t go very far and is just an easy drinking summer beer.
