rds (224), USA Aug 22, 2009 A cloudy golden body with a thin white head, strong herbal aroma, tastes like hefeweizen and looks like one, and a pretty good one at that. Duhast500 (176), , Massachusetts, USA Aug 21, 2009 Poured into a pint glass from the tap.
The color a cloudy gold color, is unfiltered, with a foamy white head.
The smell is lemon with a touch of hops.
The taste is bready, has a bit of a lemony tang to is and has slightly bitter
Taste: Tastes bready, with hints of citrus. Slight bitterness toward the end.
This beer is one of the better wheat beers I’ve ever had. It might be the best. I was pretty surprised that this beer turned out to be quite good.
drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 19, 2009 Got this in a mixed up 12 pack from my brother a couple of years ago during Halloween time but didn’t take good notes. branspra (204), Arlington, Virginia, USA Aug 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy, dark yellow color with a moderate head. Aromas of bananas, lemongrass, and a hint of apple. Carbonation is surprisingly lively and unfortunately not a whole lot of flavor. The lemongrass comes through a bit but overall the beer is a bit watery for my taste. Not too much taste. williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Aug 12, 2009 The glowing banana yellow color of an unfiltered hefeweizen -- naturally. A big ol’ puffy, white ice cream float head. Hazy with bubbles. Quite possibly the ideal look of a hef.
Heavy bready wheat aroma, balanced with some light banana/clove flavor. Crisp malt, even a tad lager-y.
Sweet taste with lemon/orange peel. Slight flowery hops. Sour at first when cold, then mellows as it warms. Hops fade. Pleasant enough, I suppose.
Water and smooth feel. Sits on the tongue. A bit dull. A good summery drink. Slight but pleasant. Tastes just fine. DrnkMcDermott (1833), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Jul 30, 2009 12 oz. bottle in hefeweizen glass. "Best by 6/09." Pours nice hazy yellow hefeweizen color, though head is big but too spongy for style. Slight lemongrass smell and just a bit of hefe esters. Lemon becomes more pronounced as I start to drink it, Now maybe this bottle is a bit old, ut it just seems to be a weak bottle version of a hefe that would be much better on tap. Last few drops in the bottle carried some trub flavor, though. jeremytoni (1072), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jul 29, 2009 From a bottle poured a light hazy golden color with a fair amount of head. Nice light citrus flavor with a quick finish. hopheadfett (50), Oak Ridge, New Jersey, USA Jul 23, 2009 Pours light yellow, small diminishing head. Nose is hard to determine, I wasn’t getting much in terms of aroma, maybe some wheat. Taste has minute amounts of lemon and wheat. Overall I agree with the description, as this is not a Hefeweizen, and I actually think I could enjoy this as a "refreshing" beer.
