May 2, 2009 The lemon/lemongrass aroma and taste can be a bit much. However, certainly not a bad beer though a heferweizen it is not. A good beer for a summer day perhaps should be brewed as a summer seasonal.

Apr 28, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a small, bubbly white head. Big lemon notes in the nose paired with some yeastiness. Medium carbonation and a light body. Lemon notes are back again with light yeast and biscuit notes. Very short finish. Light and very refreshing. A touch on the watery side, but a good beer for a hot summer day.

Well, thanks for the editors note- that would explain why the aroma had me scratching my head. And appreciating that this brew wasn’t going to be the highlight of the evening.
Pours a very mildly hazy straw yellow, middling inch or so of thin-looking offwhite head. Leaves a decent layer that sticks around well enough. Aroma is... odd. lemons, wet bread, and an odd metallic grassy smell. Flavor certainly does not deliver the hefe I was hoping for. Strong, strong flavors of what must be lemongrass- something like an artificial lemon extract. Seems like Magic hat was trying to get that "add a lemon wedge" flavor, and went way overboard. Not many other dimensions- some grainy wheat bread yeasty notes and some light spicy hop bitterness. Palate is decent- full flavor without too much weight, nothing much on the finish. Not altogether horrible, but certainly not e hefeweizen, and certainly not something I’d buy again.

Apr 15, 2009 12oz bottle thanks to my mom. Pours a cloudy orange/yellow with small white head and a fair amount of lacing. Aromas are pretty weak, some sweeter citric fruits, wheat, light floral hops and lemon grass(although I’m not sure I would of picked that up if I hadn’t read about it). Flavors of orange, tangerine, lemon, wheat and a slightly spicy finish. Palate is medium bodied and medium carbonation. Overall nothing great, but certainly quaffable.

Apr 9, 2009 Brewed in the USA........ Pours a hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma of lemons, malts and spices. The taste is much of the same with a slight warm bread feel. Overall, not bad !!! Went well with the sandwich i had for dinner. I agree with the commercial description: This is not a German Hefeweizen.

Apr 8, 2009 I seem to like the draft version better but still not my fav. Simple grainy wheat taste with some citrus. Bread lingers on taste. Simple.

Apr 7, 2009 Cloudy golden color. Very citrus tasting with lemon being mostly predominate. A very ordinary tasting beer.
