Dream Machine, an India Pale Lager or IPL, is a melding of varied visions of an India Pale Ale and an Amber Lager. Once poured, its light copper color delights the eyes and a citrusy hop aroma flows through the nose. Upon first sip, a smooth hop bitterness reveals itself - fresh, bold and slightly spicy - before subtle hints of mild maltiness appear. A big hop bite and a crisp, clean lager finish combine for a beautifully balanced beer. Take Dream Machine for a spin and let your reverie begin.

Bottle. Moderately hazy, orange-tinted copper, with just a thin head. Not much of an aroma here, perhaps just a hint of freshly clipped flowers. This drinks with a definitively sharper sweet sting than most lagers, crisp and clean but with a floral flourish that’s decidedly not European. (#5510, 5/11/2014)

12-pack from Julio’s. Pours out a light golden amber. Floral-spice aromas and flavor. Somewhat sticky bitterness - more so in the glass. Light finish. Drinks better from the bottle. Decent price too.

On tap at Comerica Park. Nice and refreshing. Subtle bite. Not a great aroma. Pretty good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Pours a clear golden color with a smaller white head. The aroma and flavor have grainy malts, light caramel, lightly toasted bread, earthy, pils hops, light florals, just seemed mild, no imperial, uninteresting.

Very pale amber with a cream colored head. Aroma of grain with light notes of caramel, toast, and citrus. Tastes odd; a weird combination of sugar, toast, and bitter hops. Dry and medium bodied.

22oz bottle, from Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield. Shared w/ local raters. Orange golden color, slight hue of yellow. Thin ring of bubbly white head. Caramel malts in the flavor, some light toastiness. Some bitter earthy hops, hint of orange. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish, light roughness in the finish. Medium-plus body. Decent, but not impressive. I feel like an IPL should be able to pass as an IPA, this one doesn’t really. I agree with nuplastikk, the amber malt kind of distracts. Not a great example of an IPL, but the ~$2.70 price point is on point.

Bomber to taster (shared by DrSilverworm). Looks good for the style; a transparent golden orange with eggshell lacing. Smells of a fairly bitter hop profile with notes of lager yeast. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Not bad.

Draft with a meal. Light copper-amber color. Mild hops, spicy. It was an okay beer, but nothing special. .

Clear yellow, huge white...look, It’s ok in the sense that it doesn’t suck. I have to keep re-learning my lesson with these Magic Hat ticks.
