A golden haze for a summer’s daze. Elder Betty is a weiss-style ale with a bready malt flavor balanced by a touch of hops and complimented by the tart berry flavors of elderberry.

Another flavored offering from magic hat, this beer is a good beer if you like fruit flavored beers. It has a nice clor and a hazy heffeweizen color, reminds me a little of Abita’s "purple haze" but not as sweet. Elder berries are a nice touch. This would make a great lawnmower beer on a hot humid day. Refreshing!

Got a single to try out. Pour a murky amber with pretty decent amount of fluffy head. Aroma is berries across the board maybe with a little bit of light cracker in there. Taste followed...very wheaty and berry-y. I guess those are elderberries, I am can’t say I’ve had them before. Medium bodied and fairly clean. Okay stuff, didn’t knock my socks off.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of elderberry, blueberry, and some malt. Poured orange/amber in color with a small, white head that disappeared except for around the edges. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny-sized particles throughout. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of malt and berries. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, malt and berry finish is lightly sticky and lightly dry.

TART! And really somewhat sour. Doesn’t go down with the summer ease of a wheat beer, but has an interesting flavor. Cloudy, somewhat sweet, and then the berries domiate most of the palate and the finish. Frankly, it’s too tart to be that drinkable, but interesting to try.

Body is light-medium and has bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more tart berries, wheat notes, soft yeast, light bread dough notes and candied fruit.

Super hazy orange coloured body with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of flowers, wheat, sugars, malt and more floral notes - lavender, chamomile and a bit of grass. Light-bodied; Strong wheat and yeast flavour at first with a good showing of flowers and sugars with a good herbal note and a little bit of a bitter finish. Aftertaste is nice with a good amount of sweetness, some herbs, finished with a pleasant fresh flavour. Overall, a decent beer - perhaps too much floral notes, but well-rounded and good for the warm season. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 23-May-2012 for US$1.79 sampled at home in Upstate New York on 25-May-2012.
