A golden haze for a summerís daze. Elder Betty is a weiss-style ale with a bready malt flavor balanced by a touch of hops and complimented by the tart berry flavors of elderberry.

Some light elderberry which is well integrated but doesnít necessarily make this a better beer. Pours cloudy golden with good head and lacing. Light acrid cellar taste to it that is ok. Light sweet finish. On tap at DC Summerfest.

Bottle. Celery soma,I presume elderberry but would call it a good fake grape nose.in the mouth light, pretty well carbonated.the fruit is light which I appreciate good amount if wheat. Short finish

Understand what youíre getting into here. Slightly sweet, with a nice finish. Nice beer if you know what to expect.

Not a fruit beer? Itís all about the berries. It poured a slightly hazed deep yellow body with a sustained tall sudsy head. Highly carbonated. The aroma was berry filled - apparently elderberry - with some warm white bread. It tasted as it smelled and finished on a fruity note with a "stemmy" bitterness. No more.

Bottle poured a golden hue w/ a small quickly and fully diminishing white head. Moderate sweet aroma of grapes and berries. Initial flavor is a light sweet w/ a heavy bitter finish. Tastes are straw, raspberry, apple, lemon. Light bodied, watery texture, lively carbonation and a moderate astringent feel in the finish.

Pours a hazy straw yellow with a highly carbonated white head that settles quickly. Has a tart smell with a touch of fruit. Starts tart with blueberry notes. Sour wheat finish.

This calls itself and elderberry weiss but it really is neither terribly weiss or terribly elderberry--though it does veer toward the later. It pours pils yellow into the glass, clear and w/ a long lasting head of medium bubbles. Itís nose is like yeasted bread dough and there is a hint of tart fruitiness once you taste it. I guess I kind of like this better than what I thought it was going to taste like which was some Jolly Rancher flavored nonsense as bland beer is less annoying than stupid beer but I still canít really recommend this to anyone.

Pours a slightly cloudy orange amber thin off white head. Aroma is floral and deity. Flavor is slight wheat with lots of berry. Had on tap at Brewskis in Fayetteville. Medium to lighter bodied.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 5/7/14

Aroma: Sweet, with berry over most everything else, and some underlying wheat/bread
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with an off-white head and light lacing
Flavor: The flavor is sweet with lots of berry flavor, bread, and a mild hop bitterness
Palate: The body is light, but not watery, with a lively carbonation, and a mild stickiness
Overall Impression: I canít say as though this is something I would buy or drink too often. Itís pretty sweet (didnít get much of the tart that was described), and it lacks any kind of balancing bite. It is also a little too carbonated to be considered super drinkable. Ultimately, it isnít a particularly flawed beer, but it just isnít that good of a beer either.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a hazy brown colored body with a fizzy soft white head that dies within twenty seconds. No lacing was left and very little carbonation was seen rising. The smell had some orange, grape and cherry. All three of these were pretty distinct from each other - not really taking any sort of blend. The taste had orange, grape and cherry, not much else, maybe a bit of honey, but wasnít exactly combined right, something just didnt quite right taste right? The palate sat light and the carbonation was definitely felt, a bit harsh on the tongue. Overall, well, Iím glad I only got a single of this just to try and I donít think Iíll get this again.
