COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A golden haze for a summer’s daze. Elder Betty is a weiss-style ale with a bready malt flavor balanced by a touch of hops and complimented by the tart berry flavors of elderberry.

Bottle. A meh base wheat beer with artificial berry flavors. Thankfully it wasnt as cloying and awful as leine’s berry weiss, but blah nonetheless

Pours hazy light orange with no head to speak of. Faint musty yeast aroma with the slightest hint of sour berries. Flat mouthfeel with murky funk flavor and astringent aftertaste. Not a lot to like here.

Bottle in Minneapolis picked up in KC. Pours a pretty hazy yellow orange appearance with a cream colored head. Spicy, spritzy, floral, fake berry aroma. Tangy fake berry, potpourri, sweet wheat flavor. Sort of decent.

Kroger mixed 6-pack bottle. Average I suppose. Kinda weak and dusty for a wheat ale and the fruit was very muted; just a hint at the end.

Bottle picked out by Mrs. UDbeernut and split. Pours hazy light atraw yellow with very little head. Nose is mundane with almost no aroma. Taste is bland with undertones of wheat. Slight berry sweetness on the finish. Body is light and somewhat crisp.

The Elder Betty pours a light orange with a large foamy nearly white head that lasts a good while and leaves terrific lacing. The aroma is heavier on the bread/wheat side than expected but the berry is also detectable. The flavor is a nice balance of bread and berry. Both flavors last well into the aftertaste. Overall this a pretty enjoyable brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

rollinsr (260) - Atlanta, GEORGIA - JUN 12, 2013
Pours a slightly hazy golden with very little head. Aroma is tart and fruity with yeast notes. Taste is mostly a funky and stale that is just trying to be masked by all the fruit flavors. Not too good.

I enjoyed this, the beer was refreshing and smooth, the wheat character paired with MH’s creamy style worked and the berry flavor was complimentary, not overwhelming.

Bottle poured a rich golden in color with a covering of white head. Aroma has sweet berry, wheat, and some yeast. Mouth feel is light and there is plenty of carbonation. Flavor has some pilsner like malt, wheat, berry sweetness, and a light bitter twang into the finish. The berry flavoring is a tad artificial but that said it is a nicely done beer that drinks very easy.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours cloudy amber minimal white head. Aroma of fruit and wheat. Taste of grain combined with some fruit; sweet but there is a nice tartness towards the end, refreshing and enjoyable, very nice summer beer.
