COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our inky-black, oatmeal stout has a smooth, round palate with a dreamlike undercurrent of bittersweet chocolate. This dense liquid-silk summons hope from hibernation and balances winter’s endless white snows with a rich swirl of creamy black rapture. Available in the Winter, reintroduced in Winter 2012 after a hiatus.

Pour is dark brown/black. Nose is nutty with hints of sweet malt and some chocolate. Taste is nutty and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is light to medium. Nothing too special though not horrible. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma has a roasted meat quality about it. Roasted malts with the slightest hint of dark chocolate. Pours a blackish brown with a quickly fading tan head and minimal lacing. The taste is delishiously roasty. Roasted malts with a nice slightly bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Overall, a very enjoyable stout - want to drink again.

Bottle. The pour is dark. The aroma has a lot of malt. The taste is surprisingly good. A little thin, but solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smells of burnt caramel toffee. Full bodied, small lingering head. Leaves some residue on the glass. Slight spicy flavor. Standard stout. Nothing really stuck out to me

A midnight beer with a brown head. Smooth, coco nibs (not overpowering), delicate spices. A great affordable stout in a dandy of a bottle ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Subtle chocolate aroma. Pours black, almost like looking into the heart of darkness, with very little head. Rich and flavorful oatmeal stout with chocolatey notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at driftwood in Plymouth. Pours black with an off white head. Aroma is of malts, some roastiness, a little coffee and nuttiness. Medium bodied. A little lighter for my taste when it comes to stouts. Favors include malts, some coffee, smoke, a little roastiness, and some more malts. Leaves a malty finish. This would have been something special 10 years ago, but now a days there’s so much more expectations on stouts and this was kind of a let down.

Beautiful oatmeal stout. Smooth. Oatmeal and chocolate flavors are subtle, I would like to be able smell the chocolate better. Has a dry bitter aftertaste that makes me think I just ate some dark chocolate. Great winter stout.
