Filled with the howling of black dogs that haunt the long forgotten shadows of the human soul.

Our inky-black stout had a smooth, round palate with a dreamlike undercurrent of bittersweet chocolate. This dense liquid-silk summoned hope from hibernation and balanced winter’s endless white snows with a rich swirl of creamy black rapture.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, Buffalo, NY. Glossy black with a thin beige head; aroma of deeply roasted chocolate malts; smooth in the mouth with a fruity, nutty, chocolate taste; and a silky chocolate finish. A rather good stout.

Pours opaque black with a 1-finger tan head. Aroma of cocoa and a light burnt note, with maybe some dairy cream underneath. Medium body, a bit watery with a brief finish. Roasty malt flavor up front that gives way to a chocolate note.

Hmmmmmm. Although ’tis spring, the little sign @ the local liquor sellers said "Last Chance" sale since the 12er I bought is a "Winterland" variety pak. But my goodness this is a most flavorful Stout. Poured into an english pint glass; a dark, sweet aroma emits that befits the nearly blackish coloring and the taste, richly smoothly satisfyingly lip smackin’ goodness. Hopefully, whence it’s return in 6 or so months, it will be welcomed here with a relishment.

355 ml bottle. Clear, dark brown body with a medium sized, lacing frothy tan head. Nice and gentle aroma of dark malt, mocha and milk chocolate. Flavor is sweet and smooth in the same direction as the aroma indicates. Silk smooth with mild balanced bitterness. Fine body and good aftertaste. Avery nice stout indeed.

2014 bottle to a tulip glass. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is dark malt with a little roast, dark chocolate, and a little tart cherry. Taste is a roasted, almost charred malt, milk chocolate, a little coffee bitterness at the end. Not much sweetness. Ends a little tannic and vegetal. Has a medium, slightly rounded mouthfeel with a good amount of carbonation and a bit of a sting to go with it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
