COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Filled with the howling of black dogs that haunt the long forgotten shadows of the human soul.

Our inky-black stout had a smooth, round palate with a dreamlike undercurrent of bittersweet chocolate. This dense liquid-silk summoned hope from hibernation and balanced winterís endless white snows with a rich swirl of creamy black rapture.

Bottle. Picked this up on a whim from Wholefoods. Nice little dry stout. Good session beer for the seasoned drinker.

Pours as black as my evil heart. Nice head of foam. However, no distinct aroma. Initial taste is a little thin. Not much in the finish. On the other hand, there's nothing offensive about this. Still, I expected more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pours black with a charcoal color head, which there is not much of and dissipates fast. the aroma is malty, with roasted malts. Little coffee and chocolate. the flavor is roasty throughout more towards the end. up front is more chocolate and some coffee finishing with roasted barley flavor. seems to finish dry. Overall this is ok not great

Black cola pour, chocolatey aroma. Mildly roasty flavor. Overly carbonated, like cola. Disappointed. Alas.

Alright, I got this one as part of Magic Hatís 2012 Wintertime 12 pack - This is a fine, blackish stout with a lasting tan head of finely bubbled foam and interesting coffee-cocao-malt aroma. Tastewise, this one is excellent, with (and one can argue with me) a chicory/anise taste adding to itís stout complexity.

Black pour, beige head. Chocolate and roasted malt smell. Some oak and maybe light citrus. Taste is whoa...wayyy sweeter than I expected. Dark chocolate and tangy lemon. Barley is definitely on the tongue. Not bad, but not what I expected. Props to the Hat...probably should have seen it coming with them.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small khaki head. Nose is roasty and sweet with light smoked notes, raisins, sweet chocolate. Palate is medium with a tingle, oily notes and a sticky finish. Flavors of rich chocolate, oily dark fruits and some sweet chocolate

I am really glad they brought this one back. Roasted malty aroma with just a slight bitter hop taste. Definitely good stuff.

Chocolate notes, smooth velvet texture. Dark color, light airy head. A little thin, but overall well done.

Ahh, Magic Hat. We meet again. So what have we here? A stout? Full of odd and terrible ingredients to test my fortitude? No? Just a normal stout? Well, this is unexpected. Letís see... Not bad. Not great, either, but certainly not bad.
