COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Filled with the howling of black dogs that haunt the long forgotten shadows of the human soul.

Our inky-black stout had a smooth, round palate with a dreamlike undercurrent of bittersweet chocolate. This dense liquid-silk summoned hope from hibernation and balanced winter’s endless white snows with a rich swirl of creamy black rapture.

A near dark beer. It pours a very small head and leaves only a very small trace of lacing. A descent aroma that has hints of coffee, burnt wood, toasted cereal, with a bitterness. Ok flavor that is very similar to the aroma. Not as flavorful as I would have liked it to be, felt a little flat. Had somewhat of a slightly sour finish. I would drink it again if it was offered to me but I wouldn’t seek it out. Not worth $10 a six pack to me. Not bad, not great only ok.

Bottle. Nose is heavy roast, tar, light ash, really nice and brutal compared to sweetened and milky stouts. Brown-black pour with a fizzy light brown/tan head. Watery light body, sweet but not cloying, very light bitterness (surprisingly little, actually) with light acridity and roast. Really, the hard-bop offerings hinted at in the nose just don’t materialize here. Though there is some fruit to bring up the slack (usual suspects and the interesting addition of distinct black currant traces in the finish) and a clean dollop of yeast character. Chocolate and a soft bit on the sides without being oily. Actually ends up being interesting and quite refreshing, just different than expected.

Bottle. Pours near black with creme head that dissipates. Smells a bit boozy with little carbonation. No boozy flavors with hints of chocolate and coffee. It's a bit thin for a stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black pour with a small head that amounted to a ring of tan bubbles. Light aroma of roast malts. The flavor is lightly bitter with the bitterness coming equally from the roast malts and the hops. Towards the thin side, well carbonated despite the small head.

12oz bottle into a pint can big elm glass, pours a dark black with brown hues. Head is light brown, light, loose bubbles, 3cm ring, some lacing. Aroma is a mixture of matl bases grass, sweet coco, dark molasses and dry chocolate. Taste is dry and slightly bitter coco, malty satisfaction comes in the flush going down, with dark choco drifts and mild sweet coffee, maybe decaf, holding reigns. Body is adequately deep, satisfying and rich, but not overlly syrup thick rich, nice, dry, malt bases backbone rich. Bitter and dry finish leads me back for the inviting roasty coca hints from the beginning. will it go round in circles?

Pours black with a nice tan foam. Slightly fruity aroma over roasted malt. Chocolate milky character, slightly bitter. Nice smooth finish. Aftertaste is mellow, not harsh like some stouts can be.

From bottle. Rich, roasty, and tangy with coffee, molasses, soy, and smoke. Hearty nose with a bit of alcoholic sweetness. Dark black opaque with thin creamy tan lacing head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation, fizzy. Starts dry and roasty with carbonic tang and acrid smoky notes. Light sweetness but fairly dry with carbonic tang. Mild chocolate and coffee, with a hint of molasses.
