3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours murky dark brown with a creamy beige head. The aroma brings light sweet yeasty malt notes, not quite roasty but a bit of chocolate is there. The flavor and body are lighter, creamy body overall with light chocolatey and yeast notes.

This is a picture perfect stout w/ a long lasting head of very fine white bubbles on top of a deep garnet black beer. It unfortunately does not smell or taste quite as good as it looks but it still isn’t too shabby in that department either. It’s got a heavily sugared coffee sort of taste w/ a creamy texture--a combination that really works well in my opinion. I am not necessarily inclined to think of Magic Hat as one of my favorite breweries but if they made more beers this good, they would be.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark brown/black pour. Aroma is sweet chocolate bar, toffee, molasses, and a bit of char. Sticky, syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor is sticky chocolate, licorice, molasses, very sweet and a bit difficult to drink for a sub 6% beer. Not bad, but not something I really care for.

Black with creamy thick cocoa colored head. Sweet roasted malts in the nose. Taste- bitter coffee and slight chocolate. Usually not a Magic Hat fan, but this one is solid.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a black color with a tan head. Aroma is strong of chocolate, roasted malts, and some molasses. Flavor isn’t quite as good as I thought it would be from the aroma. Malty flavor dominates with some sweetness on the finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Impressive deep rich black almost purplish body with a creamy head. Aroma is roasted coffee with a hint of toffee. A very flavorful mocha carmel again with hints of coffee. Leaves a sweet toffee finish. Definitely one to be enjoyed slowly. Recommended.
