COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Filled with the howling of black dogs that haunt the long forgotten shadows of the human soul.

Our inky-black stout had a smooth, round palate with a dreamlike undercurrent of bittersweet chocolate. This dense liquid-silk summoned hope from hibernation and balanced winter’s endless white snows with a rich swirl of creamy black rapture.

Dark brown with ruby lowlights and a rocky beige slowly fading head. Semi-sweet aroma of roasted malt, chocolate syrup and earthy notes. Taste is a bit thin and chalky with chocolate, coffee, barley and grains. Finishes zippy and acidic.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2013 A pretty typical stout. Nice chocolate coffee flavor with a thick body. Not as good as Guiness but still solid.

Not a big fan of Magic Hat but was pleasantly surprised by this stout. Nice chocolatey flavor with a silky finish.

Poured at RFD DC. Mostly black, a little watery with some tan, spitty head. Nose is malty, grainy, toast, bread crust, molasses, chocolate. Flavor is very similar, malty, sweet, earthy, toast, bread crust, a little wet dirt, some mild citrus. Creamy finish. Solid offering from them.

12 oz. bottle poured to a Czech-pils glass showing a black/brown color with some ruby highlighting, brownish tan, "bubbles & cream" head froth, and ribbony cling to the lacing. The aroma was roasty, with light grain, chocolate, with some smooth creaminess, and a hint of sweetness. Flavor notes were similar, with moderate hop bitterness that possessed an earthy & citrusy astringency, and some lingering nature to it, and decent malt content that generated a lightly creamy mouthfeel. Better than medium bodied, flavorful, with the astringency resisting to bite, even as it warmed.

Probably the best use of bittersweet chocolate I've noticed in a beer. What kind of English nerd write that description? And I say that as an English nerd. It may not always look like it, because I've noticed a lot of my reviews have error. But that's only because I'm drunk by then. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark black with a tight tan head. Roasty malt aroma and taste with coffee and light chocolate notes. Kind of a thin body and mouth feel. Overall it is a good stout.

Bottle from Winter variety pack. Dark brown pour with a thin, tan head. Dark chocolate, cream and licorice aroma. Bitter cocoa and roasted malt flavors give way to a weak and bitter coffee finish. Average carbonation with dry texture. Body is a little thinner than you would expect. A middle of the road dry stout in my book.
