Bottle; Poured dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma: Cocoa/Coffee/ Malt. Flavor: True to its smell, perfect balance between malt and coffee with a chocolate twist. This was creamy and thick and really delicious.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 wildbeercat (136) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JUN 10, 2013
12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a Guinness glass. Served cold.
Aroma: Wow chocolate milk! Some nice roasty malts backing it up. Chocolate really is the biggest aroma presence. And it smells quite lovely
Appearance: Completely opaque, thick, dark brown. A dark tan head dissipates quickly.
Taste: Roasted malts are a big presence, but they’re not overpowering. Dark chocolate is right there underneath the roast. Quite tasty.
Palate: Smooth and palate coating. Not very creamy. Pretty decent.
Overall: Wow what a great stout! Not my favorite in the whole world, but it’s very pleasant. The contrast between the chocolate aroma and the roasted flavor are fun, and, while I prefer creamier stouts, this one felt quite smooth. Very good beer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ibrew2or3 (5823) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUN 3, 2013
12oz bottle pours with a dark brown body supporting a weak tan head. The aroma has sweet malts mixing with moderately roasty malts as well as an earthy malt note or two. The taste delivers roasted malts, chocolate malts and a thin sting of malt sweetness that is binding everything together. Behind those malt notes is a light sweet layer of molasses. Pretty nice.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 onceblind (2642) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 1, 2013
Sat in my refrigerator until waay out of season, but it’s still delightful. Inky black with a thin khaki head. Lovely nose of sweet dark chocolate bar with s hint of coffee beans and roasty caramel. Flavor is rich and creamy with a sweet dark chocolatiness that isnt cloying or overbearing, as it’s balanced out by some roasty black malts and a wee bit of artisan mild-roast coffee beans. Finishes with a smokey chocolatiness.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 superspak (1536) - Michigan, USA - MAY 11, 2013
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, winter 2012 bottling. Pours lightly hazy very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger moderately dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Some nice soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of milk chocolate, roasted malt, toast, toffee, caramel, light coffee, and light floral earthiness. Excellent aromas with great balance, strength, and complexity of roasted malt notes with light hops. Taste of milk chocolate, roasted malt, toast, toffee, caramel, coffee, and floral earthiness. Light coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, roasted malt, toast, toffee, coffee, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of roasted malt flavors; with a good amount of robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent stout! Great balance of roasted flavors with good robustness; and very smooth to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.
