Decent balance to finish, some chalky cocoa, earthy bitterness, charred malts, wet leaves, burnt toast. Starts a bit awkwardly but finishes well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This brew pours an inky black color with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of malt, chocolate and a bit of hops. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of sweet malt, dark chocolate and slightly peppery hops. The finish is mildly bitter with a chocolatey aftertaste. Proof that Magic Hat can make a decent beer if they put their minds to it.
