COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Filled with the howling of black dogs that haunt the long forgotten shadows of the human soul.

Our inky-black stout had a smooth, round palate with a dreamlike undercurrent of bittersweet chocolate. This dense liquid-silk summoned hope from hibernation and balanced winter’s endless white snows with a rich swirl of creamy black rapture.

Good aroma which is a little sweet, great appearance, good head. Overall a solid choice, good complexity on malt character.

One of the best offerings from magic hat I have had. Pours a solid black with a thin cream colored head. Nice sweetness and pure chocolate from the chocolate malt and just the right bitterness and licorice notes from the hops. Drinks better at a slightly colder temperature.

Not overly dark, but a nice complex. Nutty. It’s like deschutes’ Black Butte’s ugly step brother.

Sat in my refrigerator until waay out of season, but it’s still delightful. Inky black with a thin khaki head. Lovely nose of sweet dark chocolate bar with s hint of coffee beans and roasty caramel. Flavor is rich and creamy with a sweet dark chocolatiness that isnt cloying or overbearing, as it’s balanced out by some roasty black malts and a wee bit of artisan mild-roast coffee beans. Finishes with a smokey chocolatiness.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a moderate off-white head. Lots of roasted notes to the nose of this. Not what I expected for a sweet stout - more roasted and coffee notes to it than anything else. Tasty, though.

Aroma is chocolate, malts and earthy. The flavor is chocolate, malts, fruit, a creamy palate and a hint of acidity/tartness in the finish.

This beer is black with a fleeting tan head, and the aroma is made up of roasty, coffee, and chocolate malts. The taste is mildly sweet and lightly bitter, but the heartiness and fullness of this beer cannot be denied. It also has an oily yet creamy texture, a nearly flat carbonation, and a long finish.

Pours black with a nice tan foam. Slightly fruity aroma over roasted malt. Chocolate milky character, slightly bitter. Nice smooth finish. Aftertaste is mellow, not harsh like some stouts can be.

Light cannot penetrate this stout. Murky , squid-ink black. Think death in a glass. A nice coffee left-over. I would place this on the desert beer list. Yes, after a good prime rib sit back and sip it. Certainly not a high-alcohol stout. Good for sissy-pants whom are just wetting their pallets. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
