Has a dark, almost reddish pour, with a very very thin head that quickly disappears. The carbonation is very light, but the flavors are still very easily detectable. The aroma has almost of a dried apple scent to it, almost like a scented candle. The flavor is just about the same as the aroma suggests. In my opinion it should be rated a little higher.

Bottled. Poured lighter orangey-amber with a short-ish lived cap of white head. The aroma picked up a sweet dose of bready, vienna-ish malts with some vanilla and odd appley-vegetal character around.. caramel and citrus hops also make an appearance.. weird stuff. The flavor found a sweet core of caramel, bready, and honey notes, with tacky fruit and otherwise unidentifiable bitterness around.. a bit acidic in the end.. didn’t like this very much. Light-medium bodied and well carbonated on the palate.. very sweet overall.. candied with an odd complexion.

Finhead (1186) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - SEP 2, 2010
A brownish orange pour with white head. The nose is fruity, mostly apricot and apple, mixed with grass and some light malt notes. The medium body has a oily texture. The taste is surprisingly bitter throughout with a dry finish.

Tap at Magic Hat. Pours an orange amber with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of light toasted malt, fruits, classic Magic Hat yeast. Flavor of the classic MH yeast profile. Kind of fruity with toasted and grainy malt notes.

Off-brown water color. No appreciable head to speak of. Great nose though with vienna malt and allspice. Nice full flavor. Very malty. Nice spritzy character and bite. Unfirtunately, the finish is danky.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2010 Sample at Barley’s Smokehouse. The beer is a clear orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes to an outer ring quickly. Spotty lacing. Mild hops and toasted malt aroma. Light to medium body with flavors of sweet malt, hops and touches of fruit. The finish is caramel malt with a sweet aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

bottle, thanks to bu11zeye, nut color with an aroma and flavor that reminded me of candy corn and butterscotch
