3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear orange amber with a long-lasting 1/2" off-white head and splashes of lace. Tiny carbonation bubbles constantly rising through the drink. Nice looking. The taste is good for cool autumn nights: caramel malt and toffee grow through the palate until carbonation and bittering move into a lightly smoky finish. Very drinkable. Recommended.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: Pours a hazy amber orange with a thin white cap of foam.
Aroma: Bready malt and modest herbal hop aroma.
Taste: Bready malt, some salty caramel, mild euro hop spice finish.
Mouthfeel: Highly carbonated, full bodied.
Overall: This is perfect example of a run-of-the-mill American rendition of an Oktoberfest beer. The style doesn’t lend a ton of room for creativity, but seemed like there was room for some more boldness. The smoked malt sounded great, but wasn’t pronounced enough for me to detect it. Not bad, drinkable, but forgettable.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of sweet caramel malts and tootsie rolls. Flavor has some chocolate, caramel, and toffee floating around with not much hop bitterness, Not much smokiness detected considering how much it claims to contain it. Decent but not an offering of the style that sets itself apart from others.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a hazy medium orange with a half finger head. No lacing at all and very poor head retention.
Aroma has caramel and toffee along with some Earthy hops and a touch of smoke.
Flavor is quite tart up front which kind of surprised me. This caused a bit of a citrus note. There is caramel and toffee in there along with a bit of wood. Smoke is present albeit extremely light. Bitterness is light with just enough present to balance out the sweetness.
Overall, a unique beer but I feel that it misses the mark. I can tell there are complex flavors buried in here but they are overshadowed by the tartness. Not sure how old this bottle is or if that would even make a difference but I would like to try this really fresh sometime.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured in a mug from Draft not bottle. I love the complexities of this beer. Its brewed with Apollo Hops normally seen in an Imperial IPA and they pair it with a variety of malts and rye to produce an exceptionally smooth drinking Oktoberfest that tastes toffee even a little pumpkin with a clean crisp finish. Its mildly bitter with the rye playing a nice part on the finish.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Sugars (formerly Sugarmoms). Orange amber pour with a head that died away quickly. Sharp Oktoberfest. Juicy, but patently not a proper German witbeer. Hoppy orange juice. Decent body for an otherwise slight beer. Easy drinking, but feels cheap. Good-ish but so off the mark that I cannot rate higher.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Smells mildly of caramel and a bit of woody character- not very aromatic. Same mild caramel flavor with a bit of a sweet and spicy (maybe a tad smokey?) thing going on. Despite the weird sweet and spiciness, it does finish somewhat clean(-ish).

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured with very little head. A lot of sweetness is both aroma and taste - lots of toffee and raisin here. Oddly artificial aftertaste - reminds me of Liquid Smoke. Not a big fan.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Ok beer. Pours a nice amber color. Very little aroma. Some toffee. Caramel and toffee taste. A little on the sweet side overall. Very little carbonation.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled August 8, 2012.
A: The body pours a slightly hazy amber with no carbonation at all visible, this is apparent in the almost non-existent head, just a very small light tan coating that doesn’t even coat the entire top.
S: The aroma is very weak, but there’s some toffee sweetness and a little cherry aroma with just a very light smokiness.
T: The flavor is overall leaning sweet, but it’s balanced rather well. Caramel, toffee, some cherries, slight rye, and just a slight smokiness make this a complex and easy to drink beer. I really like this.
M: Medium bodied with sightly sharp carbonation in a good amount.
O: I actually really like this, it’s complex and is really easy to drink. I like what they’ve done here.
