Soft initial taste that does not get much stronger as an octoberfest-style beer. Has a bit of a watery back-end taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, pours a pretty amber resin color. Healthy looking white head dissipates quickly, letting out aromas of caramel malts, floral and slightly fruity notes. Malty, bready, a little alcohol towards the end. All in all a pretty drinkable spin on an Oktoberfest.

Color: Dark Amber Nose: very yeasty dark bread with a hint of very ripe pumpkin Taste: sweet and sour yeast on the front palate, dark bread and pumpkin with a touch of moldiness on the mid palate, dark pumpkin bread type flavor on the finish Mouthfeel: Not the quite velvetty, but considering the flavor and hops involved very smooth for the style Comments: While not the best, very good octoberfest style seasonal beer; I can tell they tried to do something different and a bit more challenging in regards to flavor and I appreciate that; definitely worth trying at least once

Bottle. Pours a copper brown color with a medium head. No too malty, minimal hop; slightly malty mouthfeel with a bit of hop aftertaste. It has a similar base to other magic hat offerings.

Poured in a mug from Draft not bottle. I love the complexities of this beer. Its brewed with Apollo Hops normally seen in an Imperial IPA and they pair it with a variety of malts and rye to produce an exceptionally smooth drinking Oktoberfest that tastes toffee even a little pumpkin with a clean crisp finish. Its mildly bitter with the rye playing a nice part on the finish.

amber, orange in color. medium sweetness, lightly bitter, somewhat complicated malt flavor mixed with light clean hopping. Kind of like a confused version of a better beer with that sort of craptastic bitter taste common of low grade marzens.

Good beer. I personally would like just a tiny bit less hop kick to it but otherwise I cannot make any real complaints. Is the first smoky malt beer I’ve had that I didn’t want to clean my tongue after and makes me interested to try others again.

"Beer reviewed from notes" A-Poured into a pint glass from the tap. Pours a light amber with flecks of red. decent amount of speckled lace head is Bone white. S-I am not sure whats up with the scent of this beer. It smelled very musty. Not sure why but the scent of something close to wet towels killed all other scents in this beer. Almost to the point of me questioning drinking it. T-Taste is awesome. Lots of malty sweetness with a very mild amount of bitterness at the end. Good complexity with nothing clashing terribly. M- Mouthfeel was also dead on for the style. D-This was a decent beer if you can get past the scent. Not sure why that happened but it was a first for me. I wont be getting this one again.

Yet another new fall offering from Magic Hat. Hex is sure drinkable, the flavors for this new Oktoberfest style beer are on the lighter side but they are there, just need to let it sit a bit and that is the hard part, its got a dry end to it so I find myself wanting to polish it off quickly. There are many malts going on here but there’s a subtleness to this brew that creeps up on you and it makes for a great session beer at this time of the year, right thru the fall. Give it some time, I still miss Jinx!
