Copper pour. Aroma of caramel, butter, ivory soap, cereal. Flavor is very sweet, lots of grain, creamed corn, butter, splenda. Not so good.

On tap at square burger. Pours a deep ruby orange with a thin white head. The aromas are dough, musk. The mouthfeel is watery and bland with a medium to light body. Cheers!

Smells or sweet corn and some hints of grain. Wheat maybe? The color is almost pink, it’s translucent and lightly carbonated. Tastes lightly malted, with a hint of hops, grassy, unbalanced. The palate is crisp, yet creamy at the palate. Unbalanced and slightly offensive.

Sampled on draft at the Rivertown Pub this beer poured a dark orange-amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma was perfume, windex and a bit of tart apple. The flavor was tart with prominent windex and perfume and a bit of tangy apple. The finish was long, sour, tart and bitter. Thin body. Not good at all.

Billed as an "Ourtoberfest" *rollseyes*. It pours pretty much like a typical maerzen, it has an orangeish amber body with a foamy white head. The head dissipates very quickly and without lacing. The smell is slightly nutty, sweet, with a hint of mineral water. The flavor is sweet, there is almost a pickle spice character to it. There is a light breadiness and hop presence. There isn’t much going on here, a simple brew, but not in a pleasurable way. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-12-2010 17:57:22

12 oz. bottle. Pours a reddish amber with a small, thin white head. Aroma of vienna and crystal malt. Some crackers, dark bread. Dusty hops, a sweetness I can’t put my finger one. Flavor of crystal malts, caramel, mild rye, mostly vague and unidentifiable sweetness. Medium bodied. A chore to drink. Blech. After a few, this becomes disgusting. AVOID.

Fairly unremarkable. Bitter, dry, floral hoppy aroma. Golden amber color with a tinge of red and a little haze to it. A floral bitterness in the middle with a lavender taste that lingers. Full bodied, but a little sticky. Bitter finish with a short drop off. Tough competition, considering the strength of Octoberfests and autumn seasonals, leading to high expectations, but it just doesn’t stack up.

cheers to Magic Hat for trying something different. I smokey marzen. What? Yeah. This was awful. An Oktoberfest should taste like an Oktoberfest. Thumbs down
