COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Perfect form with a smooth, malty opening line followed by a crisp, citrusy hop-filled second stanza. The final piece of its poetic existence is a dash of cool cucumber combined with the slightest of hibiscus tangs.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of straw, cucumber and hibiscus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of hibiscus, straw and cucumber with a smooth lingering hibiscus/cucumber finish.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of cucumber and hibiscus which combine to form watermelon candy with a bit of a spiciness. Some caramel malts in there as well. The taste is strong, bitter and herbal cucumber, spicy hibiscus notes in the finish. Muted caramel malts. Certainly an odd beer, but it’s solid.

DocLock (7700) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 7, 2013
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours coppery with dark straw edges and a finger of frothy off-white head. Nose is big cucumber, caramel malt, florals. The cucumber nose is authentic. Tastes refreshing, with a cucumber flavor up front, a crisp hopcitric middle, and some caramel malt in the finish. This one is nice.

Bottle to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs.). Looks Solid; a cloudy deep orange with thin off-white head that dissipates into lacing. Smells of cucumber with a bit of a malt backbone. Tastes like it smells, only less pleasant, with an average (at best mouthfeel). I think it might be the hibiscus throwing it off. Not my thing.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. Off-white head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Very sweet hibiscus and wax lips aromas. Sharp with cucumber and hay upfront turning to cherry lip balm before the dry, bitter lasting flowery finish.

The aroma is like a vegetable and herb garden. It has a grassy weed quality as well as cucumbers, malt, and flowers. The appearance is amber gold with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma but rather bitter at the end with some funk up front. The palate is smooth. Overall kinda weird but worth a try once at least.

12oz bottle from Spirits Cross Roads. Poured a clear burnt orange body with a large bubble foamy head. Aroma was interesting and reminded me of walking into a Bath and Body Works, crips and clean with the cucumber coming through big time along with light hibiscus. Medium body with assertive carbonation and an average duration on the aftertaste. Flavor isn’t quite as crisp as the aroma with a dry malt foretaste followed by hibiscus and juicy cucumber and a dry grassy hop finish. Interesting.
