3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JUL 11, 2004
High expectations and slightly disappointed. This was still good but I wnated more from it. The pours is a clear golden amber with very little head just a slight bit of fizziness. The aroma is baby food, diapers and dirty dishwater. Extremely hoppy, this is a good thing, lots of grapefruit and other light fruits. There is just not enough of a malt backbone to make the body anyhing more than thin and medium bodied. This is all hops, but in an acidic unbalanced way. Finish is very crisp clean and dry.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 lowner (19) - astoria, New York, USA - JUL 10, 2004
Very poor for a new IPA you would expect to be good. Almost budweisrer clear....a somewhat nice hop character but not overly impressive.

I didn’t really warm up to this brew, though I like some of Magic Hat’s offerings. Pale but hazy gold. Full apricoty malt and an odd hop blend. Not convinced.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ukoolaid (575) - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 27, 2004
Bottle. Clear golden yellow color. Aroma has light bitter citrus. Taste it grapefruit and hops....it’s not terrible, but I really like strong IPA’s and this one doesn’t do it at all.

Not bad, but not as good as Blind Faith. Amber in color with a frothy light tan head. Citrusy, hoppy aroma. Tastes like a blend of flowers and citrus fruit with a hoppy kick. A bit watery. Definitely drinkable.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 shadey (1756) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 21, 2004
Pours golden with a thin white head. Good Lacing on the glass after the head dissapates. Smells hoppy like an IPA should. Very tastey. Hops and a touch of sweet citrus but very mild. Not the best IPA but very drinkable.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BennyTicklez (621) - USA - JUN 19, 2004
Pours cloudy amber out of the 22oz bottle with a average white head. Taste was hoppy with some more hops. Nothing much other than hops in this one. However, I like hops, so this beer was decent. Light body, kind of watered down. Slight citrus taste, less than other IPA’s.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2004 First off, I love West Coast IPA’s and anything less is just, less. Saying that, this stuff was a bit sweet although it did have a somewhat hoppy taste. Just not enough hops that I like. Nice presentation and head retention though.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2004 Mondial de la Biere 2004. Golden amber colour with a frothy white head. Cask-like appearance. Piny, citrus, minty, almost eucalyptus aroma. Flavour starts slightly toasty and minty, finishing with a pleasant lingering piny and grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied and juicy.

Golden orange in colour. Aroma was quite hoppy, mild spices, lemon citrus and some pine. Flavour of hops, citrus, some malt and maybe some grapefruit. Finishes long and dry with some citrus.
