Hi.P.A. is a medium-bodied groove with a fresh and fruitful nose of tympanic temptation. It begins and ends with a big hop bite that is itself forever balanced on the brink by a steady rhythm of malt. Dry-hopped for extra quenching in the face of heat and beat, it’s an ideal accompaniment to chilling out, turning inward or sailing onward through the music of the night toward the dawn of the mind. It’s the liquid way to say be here now lest you never come this way again.

With the name "Hi.P.A." I did not expect such a citrusy flavor. Hi.P.A. poured golden with a few floaties in the bottom of the glass. Apricot aroma and flavor, hops are well belended with malts. This IPA has adequate flavor, just not what I expected. I thought Hi.P.A. would be a West Coast style IPA.

22oz. Bomber: This one is a slightly orangish color. It had a bit of a head to it, but it dissapated quickly. Definite hops in the aroma. Not as much as I would have expected with the name. The aroma in a bit piney. Where did the hop taste go? It's there, but no stronger than a normal IPA, if even a bit weaker. It does taste good, but the expectation is higher.

Cask: Light orange. Lychee in the aroma and finish. Some bitter notes in palate and a combined bitter-sweet aftertaste.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2004 Citrus and pine hop aromas. Hazy light light orange/tan colour with thin white head that dissipates fairly quickly with some lacing. Lots of citrusy hop flavour with pine notes as in the aroma and an underlying sweetness. Alcohol not apparent in the flavour at all. Body is medium, perhaps could use a bit more mouthfeel to support the hops. Definitely balanced towards the hops, this is quite the tasty IPA. On tap at the brewery and bottled. Resampled at Mondial 2004 and I still love this one.

Poured a reddish copper color with a small white head that left some lacing on the glass. Grapefruit, pine hop aroma. Citrusy hop taste and a rather weak mouthfeel.

Small offwhite head, lasting. Hazy orange color. Somewhat piney, resiny hop nose. Medium body. Lots of oily, resiny hops. Grapefruity, citrusy sticky ole hops! A touch of malt in the background. Finish is dry with a good freakin hop bite. Fairly impressive for Magic Hat.

(Bottle) This IPA makes your tongue go wild! Every taste will bring out new interesting flavors. One of the more unique tasting IPAs I have tried. Will have to try again!

Crunchy pine and grapefruit hops hanging on the palate, culminating in a dry bark ending...Malt is non-consequential it seems, this a hop quaffer...As pleasantly sense numbing and thirst quenching as Rogue's Brutal Bitter...
