COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hi.P.A. is a medium-bodied groove with a fresh and fruitful nose of tympanic temptation. It begins and ends with a big hop bite that is itself forever balanced on the brink by a steady rhythm of malt. Dry-hopped for extra quenching in the face of heat and beat, itís an ideal accompaniment to chilling out, turning inward or sailing onward through the music of the night toward the dawn of the mind. Itís the liquid way to say be here now lest you never come this way again.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with a medium white head. Aroma is of some grainy malt and skunk weed, smells like shitty pot basically. Flavor starts out a bit malty, kinda grainy again and fades into some decent bitterness. Lightr to medium body, a little rough going down. Not all that great.

Cold 12oz botte: Pours a clear pale orange color with an off white moderate head with lacing. Aroma is of vibrant fruit, orange, rich malts and light earthy hops. Taste is of rich malts and a wave of earthy hops with some orange and notes of other light fruits. Light to medium bodied with ample carbonation. Ending is malty with subtle hops.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2007 Light, golden-amber color with medium foamy head. Aroma is of grassy, floral hops. Taste - way out of whack with malt & hop flavors thrown about. Just disappointing from start to finish. I guess some brewers just donít spend the time.......

poured into a pint. its magic hat, a popular brewery, but I still notice a constant metallic amongst all thier beers, anyways, pours a cloudy golden amber with full fizzy/frothy head. strong hops in the aroma, metallic frontness and boldness. a hoppy taste, with a mildly metallic finish. not too bitter but slightly on the finish. relatively refreshing.... itís ok

Bottle. Pours orange with a white head. Hoppy nose with notes of flowers and fruit and even a hint of alcohol. Thin/medium body. Hops stick in your mouth. Taste is mostly orange and a bit peachy, with some other fruits. It sounds like a good combination, but it didnít really work for me. Bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours amber with a medium sized head. Very nice lacing. Mild hops in the aroma. Hops take a while to materialize out of the sweet goopy malty mess. This one is muddled and all off-kilter. Too bad.

beerbill (3564) - Laurel, New York, USA - JUL 7, 2008
12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy golden amber with a moderate yellow-white head that disappeared after about a quarter of the glass. Light aroma of pine and a few very light notes of citrus. The flavor starts out with some weak malt, which is followed by a thin pine flavor. This beer lacks the resinous body associated with pine in better-made beers. Thin and lacks depth. No citrus in the flavor at all. Bitter at the finish. A disappointing IPA.

12oz bottle from the new release. Hazy honey with a medium, fluffy head. Aroma: malty biscuit and honey, nutty, mild hops (noble spice, orange, grapefruit). Flavor: cream, buttered popcorn, bitter bread crust, bitter finish with a sharp citrus peel character, light alcohol in finish. Palate: medium and prickly. Overall impression: weird buttery cracker malt flavor, not much hop flavor, and a bit more bitterness than the beer can handle. This is just a mediocre pale ale with a touch more bitterness.
