COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our take on the classic summer wheat beer...itís a light, crisp ale for mowing lawns, hitting lazy fly balls and communing with nature. Glowing like brilliant rays of golden sun, its malty sweetness finishes tart and crisp. Hocus Pocus is best appreciated with a wedge of orange. Offered as a sacrifice to cloudless days.

Wheat session beer. Perhaps is better with that wedge of Orange like they say but Iím not personally a fan of disguising the beer with overwhelming flavors and it doesnít seem necessary for many wheats Iíve had contrary to what some individuals will claim. My least favorite of the Magic Hat offerings Iíve tried so far.

355ml bottle. Very nearly clear yellow, moderate white head, some lacing. Aroma is mild, citrus and maybe even some grapefruit hops. Taste actually has some hops, but not much bitterness with more citrus fruits and grain. Body is pretty average. Overall, a bit unusual for a wheat, but refreshing and inoffensive. Iíd drink it again.

Clear golden pour with a fluffy white head. Sweet malty aroma. Taste is bread, bitter citrus zest, and a hint of sweetness. A bit astringent. Prickly carbonation.

It pours from the bottle with a bright yellow-orange color. The aroma is a light mix of musty yet bright hop bitterness, a little lemon, and some earthy wheat. The flavor largely features a biscuity, almost tangy, light malt sweetness, but there is also a bit of dry, herbal hops to balance. Like the flavor, the texture is light but not too thin. Overall, this beer is light and drinkable, but it has a nice mild yet varied flavor profile.

Bottle. This one smells actually quite a bit hoppy, which I found surprising. The taste is fairly hoppy, too, which is not expected for a wheat ale. A little bitter in the taste. Great find for the style.

Bottle poured a golden in color with a covering of white head. Aroma has wheat, grains, and mild hops. Mouth feel is light and the carbonation steady. Flavor has wheat, light bitterness, dull hops, and a bit of dampness.

Bottle. Very mild aroma, honey and citrus, hint of lemon. Taste is sweet. Uneventful finish, light body, thin texture. Not a whole lot going on with this one, easy-drinking wheat.

Bottled August 7, 2012.

A: This is actually very interesting, most of Magic Hatís beers Iíve had have been cloudy, when they shouldnít, but this wheat ale is actually pretty damn clear, actually itís crystal clear. Thereís a thin white head with mediocre retention at best.

S: The aroma leans sweet here with some honey aromas and citrus thatís lightly tart.

T: Hocus Pocus is pretty standard here, dry wheat ale with mildly tart citrus. Nothing more to see here.

T: Light with medium lightly sharp carbonation.

O: This is what it is, nothing more nothing less, carry on.

12 oz. bottle from mix 12 pack. Pours a slightly hazy gold. Nose is lots of wheat and grain. As it gets real warm I noticed a lot of honey aromaís as well. The flavor is identical to the nose. I feel this is rated really harshly. Itís a bit better than some ratings imply. Yes, it is simple and light bodied, yet really refreshing with decent flavor. This bottle was still in code, so still fresh. I have NO problem finishing the other bottles.
