750 cc from Capone’s. Pours dark straw colored with 2-finger white head that laces well. Nose is earthy tart fruit, hopcitrus, caro syrup. Tastes sweet, with notes of orange marmalade, spicy peppery notes, and hopcitrus. A bit cloying as it warms, this one is a bit muddled and non-cohesive.

750ml Bottle: Faint aroma of Pils malts, noble hops, and a hint of cereal. Poured amber in color with a small, creamy, dense, off-white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Very slightly sparkling. Full of tiny-sized particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of Pils malt and noble hops. Light to medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, medium bitter, Pils malt and noble hop finish. Not much flavor or bite. 8.1%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Flowery hoppy aroma with light pale malty notes. The flavor has a pale clean malty base, flowery hops, and a medium bitter finish. Nice.

Draft at pony bar. Pours a clear yellow with white head. Aroma is light pils and sweet grass. Mouthfeel is medium with straight grass and booze. God damnit, magic hat! Hadnt had a MH in a long time and this doesn’t make me want to try another one any time soon.

Very slightly hazy golden coloured body with a super, nine plus centimetre thick off-white head that fades nicely. Aroma of grass, hay, yeast, bread, alcohol, oranges and a twinge of metal. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep malty flavour with a ton of alcohol noticeable, a lot of hay, grass, herbal and barnyardie qualities with a pungent yeast kick and a little sugar at the end. Aftertaste shows a nice complex flavour, especially for the style, with perhaps too much alcohol noticeable, but some nice grassy notes and a bit of sweetness too. Overall, a nice beer and one from Magic Hat that I was actually kind of looking forward to sample. Buy and try it if you can find it, but this was the only time I saw the bottle. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-April-2012 for US$8.65 sampled at home in Washington on 02-October-2012.

Cheap 750ml from State Line, Elkton, MD. Pour looks fairly average, deep hazy golden with a raucous carbonation. Nose is faded bready malts and what seems like hastily dumped in grass. Mouthfeel overly prickly, a touch of heat. Grainy taste everywhere, with ill-conceived hops like a bad side dish or something. Not so good.

Pours deep gold into a Sam glass. White head with excellent retention pancakes as it slowly recedes. Sourdough and caramel aromas. Thick and sweet with caramel and toffee upfront turning hot in the lasting sour earth finish.

TURDFERGUSON (3574) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - MAY 13, 2012
Tap at Tylers Carrboro. Definitely the first magic hat product i have ever ordered in a bar. but i was able to get a flight, so it wasn’t a full pour. Slight hazy golden with a small white head. Nose if grassy, citrus, grapefruit, sugary sweetness. Flavor is sweet at first, acridly bitter and a bit boozy on the tongue. Doesnt taste like every MH beer I have ever had, so that’s a plus.
