COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Earthy, rich and steeped in autumn’s magic: it’s an ale of change. This potent infusion is haunted by memories of summer and the first frost on abandoned fields. Jinx prepares the bones for snow. It has the glint of golden maples at peak and finishes light as an ode to the fading sun. A bit of peat-smoked malt imparts a subtle hint of smoke that reminds us of fall’s bonfires. Available in the Fall.

never had a smoked before, didn’t expect this, a deep alcohol based taste, some sweetness after-taste, would enjoy this around a fire with burning leaves, this one grows on you

Medium red brown pour with thin film of bubbles. Nutty aroma of a slightly smoky malt. Hints of some sweetness. A bit of a thin yet round mildly sweet malt flavor. Thin, but fluid body. Nice beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear brown with orange hints and a thin soapy tan head. Aroma is malty. Lots of bread, dough, fruit, and a touch of smoke. Flavor starts off fruity. Apples and caramel then gets to dark flavors of brown sugar, peat, toffee, raisins, and chocolate. The peat and smoke is not very strong but lends a drying earthy finish to the flavor. A little watery fades to the flavor of spit too quick. I like doughy notes in beers and magic hat seems to always produce that note. Decent.

Brown, fleeting light tan head. Interesting musty, fruity aroma. Not too much smoky flavor comes through, but this beer has a great mix of roasted earthy malt and fruit flavors. Overall interesting and worth a try.

Dark brown pour with an off-white head. Fruity malt nose, slight peat smokiness. Spcy malt flavor with a touch of raisins, lightly smokey. Very good.

This beer looks beautiful. It has a very comforting appearance, reminiscent of the flat root beer served from the tap at my father’s old volunteer firehouse. The creamy smooth pour, and very nice, but shy tan head bely the carbonated tang on the tongue that awaits, followed by a sticky sweetness, giving the initial impression that this beer is less than done. At first, smells of apple cider, but the aroma fades quickly, leaving faint hints of butterscotch, later revisited on the tongue with tastes of sweet malt extract and finished with dry dark chocolate, and thin alcohol. This beer knows it can, it knows it can, with all its sweet flavors, but it just doesn’t get past the finish line. I feel like I’m drinking wort, not beer.

Decent brew here, caught somewhere between a Brown Ale and an American Strong Ale. Mildly roasted coffee nose with some woody malt and a nice semi-sweetness. Medium brown pour with a creamy 3/4" light brown head and minimal lacing. Malty body with a creamy yet fizzy carbonated mouth feel. Flavor is big on the malts with hints of toasted bread, peaty-woody malt, a touch of smoke along with some minor coffee and chocolate tastes. All of these flavors are rather tame, but they meld together well. All around this is a nice mildly strong brown ale, I liked the couple I sampled.
