Commercial Description:
Earthy, rich and steeped in autumn’s magic: it’s an ale of change. This potent infusion is haunted by memories of summer and the first frost on abandoned fields. Jinx prepares the bones for snow. It has the glint of golden maples at peak and finishes light as an ode to the fading sun. A bit of peat-smoked malt imparts a subtle hint of smoke that reminds us of fall’s bonfires. Available in the Fall.

Bottle Dark amber pour, decent head, no lacing. Thick Earthy aroma and flavor. A bit smoked flavor, but really not much. Pretty good brew, would have again.

Poured a pretty ruby amber with a slightly creamy mild tan head. The aroma was nice and malty, caramel, a lite smoked aroma, and some medium hop notes in the background. The flavor was smoked peat, malt, a bit sweet, lite hop background, mainly malt. Nice smoked.

Draft from Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse. Poured a purplish brown, small to no head. Smells of apricot and annis. Tasted smokey and a little licorice palate. Very interesting beer, and totally recommended.

From a bottle poured nice amber color with a fair amount of head. Flavor similar to an abbey ale. Light malt flavor with a hoppy finish.

Growler form the brewery. Dark mahogeny color, head starts strong but the party fizzles out, (could be that it was a growler). Malty, peat moss, earthy aroma and flavor with some chocolate. Drank this wiithout knowing it was a smoke ale.

Poured from: 12 oz bottle. Drank from: Duvel tulip. Temp: cellar. Best by: end of 12/07. Color: murky, opaque brown. Head: off-white, bubbly, mostly fading. Lacing: light. Aromas: earthy, leather, smoke, salty air, decaying leaves, canned brownbread. Body: medium-ish. Texture: lightly oiled. Carbonation: somewhat biting. Flavors: mostly bitter, but with a mild sweet underbelly and salty overtones. Finish: bitter, with a burnt quality; slightly numbing. Overall: nice, complex.

Didn’t really pull any aroma off from the beer. Head was next to nothing and quickly disappeared. Attractive Red color. Nutty smooth beer with a lite bite of hops at end. I’ll stick with the #9.

Dark caramel color with a little bit of off-white head. Moderate aroma of alcohol. Tastes heavily of alcohol...a bit of a sting to it. Some coffee and cedar overtones with a slight hint of smoke. Not bad for a smoked, which isn’t my favorite style.
