| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2007 Jinx pours a light black color with an average, creamy light-brown head. Almost no lacing, coupled with a fully diminishing head contribute to a less than stellar appearance. Aroma is of light grain malts with chocolate notes and alcohol. Initial taste is moderately sweet, backing off to a light sweet finish with an average duration. Light body, dry texture, and lively carbonation make this a drinkable ale. smashteroid (250), USA

Indeed, this medieval concoction is spirited as I would guess the alcohol content is somewhere in the high 7 (actually 6.9%). and unlike the Scotish reds whose smoky flavor dominates the palate, the Jinx’s incensed taste is veiled behind a sweet, nutty flavor; a "cured" brown ale that Sam Smith would be happy to have on an autumn evening.
A strange thing happened with one bottle from an earlier six pack--it was Jinxed! It smelled like a cigar’s ass and was exceptionally murky. Like most Magic Hat brews, it does best fresh, so keep your fingers crossed.
