Flavor is somewhat malty, nice tartness with a hint of smokiness. The least smokey of any smoked beers I’ve ever had, but many do tend to overdo it. Pretty decent. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 18, 2006 Doesn’t seem like a smoked. It has a brownish red color with almost no head. Aroma is mainly sweet malt, oatey, touch of peppery caramel. Thin bodied and simple flavor. Toasty malt, bready, but thin, underlying slightly sweet rye-like malt. Very little bitterness (if there is any). Marsiblursi (1634), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2006 The color is the best part, reminds me of an old stained oak dresser. the aroma is subtle but surprisingly elegant. vanilla cofee and red grapefruit. Rich creamy malt on the pallatte. it’s my favorite bottle design from Magic Hat to date. radagast83 (1289), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2006 Bottle. Roasty, malty flavors. Slight burnt flavors make this drink excellent. Great undertones of caramel. Very refreshing. AlchemistZ (493), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 31, 2006 Tawny amber, mahogony wood color with a malted milk ball core-colored head. Aroma of toasted milk and a very mint-like character. Strong roast underpinning and influence on the balance, but it is not necessaily burnt or huge on the impact, with a menthol-like center overriding and a woody sweetness. Nothing special here. jonnabrix (136), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 30, 2006 A nice, clear, deep reddish amber color, this has a light aroma, with fruit and hop notes present. The flavor is a pleasant mix of deep fruits, some spicy hops, and a good amount of caramel/yeasty malt. Pretty refreshing and different.
