served on tap. poured a crisp reddish brown, with an off-white head. smells malty, with a hint of smokiness. it tasted excellent on tap, but somehow wasn’t so inspiring when served bottled. i couldn’t taste any hint of alcohol, just a light, excellent beer.

12oz - light tan head over mahogany liquid, smoky nose, smoke and malt on palate. OK but forgettable.

The color of Jinx is suspiciously light for a smoked beer, as it looks and smells much like a light bodied whiskey. Indeed, this medieval concoction is spirited as I would guess the alcohol content is somewhere in the high 7 (actually 6.9%). and unlike the Scotish reds whose smoky flavor dominates the palate, the Jinx’s incensed taste is veiled behind a sweet, nutty flavor; a "cured" brown ale that Sam Smith would be happy to have on an autumn evening.
A strange thing happened with one bottle from an earlier six pack--it was Jinxed! It smelled like a cigar’s ass and was exceptionally murky. Like most Magic Hat brews, it does best fresh, so keep your fingers crossed.

Bottled. Not a bad beer. Good malt taste all the way through. Could have been a little more ’smokey’.

12 fl bottle. Hazy reddish brown color with creamy tan head. Sweet and parfumy aroma with toffee, caramel, melon and cristmas cake. Sweet and mellow flavor wit toffee and caramel. Bisquity and sweet finish. Unpleasantly sweet.

Bottle. Pours a huge head with small activity happening. Taste is very malty but missing alot. Warming it up lets the woodiness come alive but in the end it didn’t do that much for me.

The body’s a dark chestnut and it sports a creamy yet bubbly beige head. Smoked? Perhaps, but the aroma of smoke translates more into a woodiness blended with a light roasted malt smell. The flavor’s mainly lightly roasted malts, the mild smoke finally emerging lightly in the finish. Not bad, but I’m more of a rauchbier kind of a guy.

Pours dark brown with an uneven rocky tan head. The aroma has dark toasted malt and peat smoke with hints of cream and vanilla. Medium / full bodied beer that is quite smooth and has soft carbonation. The taste has lots of smoke flavor, but not the harsh meaty smoke like others. There is also heavily toasted malt and light hop spiciness on the finish. The carbonation gets sharper further done. Also as it warms there is a bit of sourness on the finish. While not my style, this seemed quite enjoyable for being a smoked beer.
