COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Earthy, rich and steeped in autumn’s magic: it’s an ale of change. This potent infusion is haunted by memories of summer and the first frost on abandoned fields. Jinx prepares the bones for snow. It has the glint of golden maples at peak and finishes light as an ode to the fading sun. A bit of peat-smoked malt imparts a subtle hint of smoke that reminds us of fall’s bonfires. Available in the Fall.

Pours opaque copper with an off white creamy head. Smells of cherries, nuts, yogurt. Where’s the smokey smell? Tastes malty with some rasberry and honey elements. Again, the roastiness isn’t there.

Brownish-red color, beautiful tan head that lasts. Strong malty, nutty. Strong nutty, roasty flavor, undercurrents of coffee, finishes with chocolate bitter. Tastes almost like a stout or schwartzbier, but it’s an ale. Really good stuff.

Pours a clear brown color with a thin light brown head. Sweet aroma of smoked malt. Unremarkable flavor of smoked malt with a sweet finish. The body is light with an oily texture and lively carbonation. Decent.

The Lure:
Smoked fruitiness works but so far everything is tame. Peaches, oranges quietly reside in the wood-covered earth.

The Festivities:
A quenching body is able to propose smoke and drinkability at the same time. Some caramel and vanilla within the fruitiness with a trickle of smoke to keep things interested.

Transcendence:
A suggestive wink.

The Jinx is a creamy ale with a bit of orange peel flavoring, and a vanilla aftertaste, a bit bitter in the finish, otherwise a better than average ale.

Bottle shared with tupalev. Pours a clear bubbly dark copper with a small diminishing white head. Nice smoky malt aroma, reminds me of whisky, along with some toffee and hops. The flavour, even though it’s a mild version of a Smoked beer, is still pretty good. It’s malty with some smoke, sugar and a little whisky. Thin body. I quite enjoyed this.

Bottle, shared with and courtesy of Blankboy. Dark brown, small tan head (bubbly). Some peat, smoke, sweet toffee and whisky notes in nice aroma. Thin to medium mouthfeel. Taste of oak aged whisky and just a little bit of smoke. Dry hops at the end. A nice scotch ale, perfect for a chilly winter night. Excellent.

Medium amber color - fairly clear. Aroma of cocoa powder and malts. Flavor is slightly roasty with hints of grass and smoked malt. Finish is clean. Not bad - but could be better.
