COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Earthy, rich and steeped in autumn’s magic: it’s an ale of change. This potent infusion is haunted by memories of summer and the first frost on abandoned fields. Jinx prepares the bones for snow. It has the glint of golden maples at peak and finishes light as an ode to the fading sun. A bit of peat-smoked malt imparts a subtle hint of smoke that reminds us of fall’s bonfires. Available in the Fall.

Well I just watched Kimbo get KO’d as I’m getting ready to rate this. Coincidence.....hmmm.....haha (I know, I’m a goofball). But anyways. This has a nice and deep/dark brown/red color to it. Has a burnt malt smell with small hints of cherry and apricot. Can taste the smoked malt with what seems to be caramel and apricot. Has a bite in the end. Not bad at all. Another good brew from those at Magic Hat.

Draft @ Monster B’s. Like many Magic Hat’s, original for sure, but I’m not sure if I like this too much. Has similar palate to a weisse with dark brew qualities but I don’t like the combo.

12 oz bottle: An almost translucent amber pour with a fluffy medium sized off white head that lingers. Aroma is definite roasted malt charcteristics, caramel, nutty, a bit of smoke but not overpowering, and some almost weizen like qualities in the scent as well. Taste is malty, a little bit of smoke upfront but more comes through the back end. Light fruitiness, caramel, and a woodsy flavor round out the taste. Palate is lightly bitter on the back end, somewhat dry on the lips, and a nutty smoke flavor lingering on the tongue. Overall, It’s alright. People in my area are raving about this beer but I think it’s just so so. Cheers!

Poured almost like a brown ale, murky brown with a white head. Aroma of smokey malts and caramel. Taste was more of the same with a burnt caramel finish. Not the prettiest beer in the world but a solid seasonal.

Pours a clear copper with a thin off white head. Glad to have a smoked beer in their variety park of bottles. Bread and malt in the aroma and flavor. A lot of malt. Just a little touch of smoke flavor. I think if you are going to do a smoke beer it should really be heavy smoke flavor. This was a mild smoked beer. Still enjoyable, but left me hoping for more.

Pours brow with a nice white head. Aroma and taste are malty and slightly smokey. Pretty good.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2009 Brewed in the USA !! Pours a copper color with a small off white head. The aroma is of hops and warm bread. Taste of sweet malts, caramel, and a bit on the hoppy side. There was a hint of smoky flavor, but i would like to drink this again under better conditions.

Pours a dark brown/copper with a decent size head and intermittent lacing down the glass. Bready, malty scent. Taste matches it -- biscuit, bready, super malty. I can’t detect any actual smoke in this beer, but it’s enjoyable nonetheless. Thumbs up.
