Twelve ounce bottle courtesy of my friend Mr. K. Dark amber color, sweet aroma, beige head, light sweet mostly malty taste with no smokey elements I could detect. Still, not bad.

Aug 19, 2008 Had from the bottle and poured into a pint glass. It is a hazy amber color with a nice big head. This brew smells very sweet and fruity. The sweetness had me thinking this was more of a brown then a smoked but what do I know. It was nice and smooth on the palate but again, just a but too sweet. I felt it to me a nice fall beer though. Very enjoyable.

Aug 17, 2008 Sampled at the Flour City Brewers’ Fest 2008. Magic Hat Jinx is a hazy amber ale with a huge, fluffy, cream coloerd head. The retention and lacing are excellent. It has a bready aroma with a touch of sweetness and roastiness. It is medium bodied, smooth and slightly metallic in the mouth. The finish is sharp. It has a well balanced flavor; slightly sweet with a touch of caramel and a slightly alkaline note. It beats #9.

Aug 17, 2008 This is a smoked? Seriously? WTF. Darkish pour, kind of spicey fruity aroma. Taste has decent alcohol and a bit of hops, the fruity flavor almost becomes sickly sweet, seeming kind of fake.

Aug 15, 2008 Magic Hat Brewery night at Three Cellars Milwaukee. Very good light smoked. Good flavor and balance.
