Overall a nice beer if you aren’t looking for a stromg smoke character. Apellonious (53), USA

Is rubyish a word? Spell check doesn’t think so. The aroma is hard to place, I am quafting a smoky plum smell. The taste? Flavorful, malty, smoky, with some plum/raisin sugary type overtones. Solid mouth feel. Definitely worth a try. Especially watching the Sox in midst of a fall pennant race, and watching Lowell hit a three run dinger over the Monstah. quantum24 (32), New York, USA

A large, frothy mocha head sits on top of this clear, dark amber beer.
Lightly malty yeasty aroma, but little smoke.
Starts with some malty sweetness and finishes with a spicy tang in the finish that reminds me of either a rye or wheat beer finish. Fair, but nothing really exciting here. I never did get much of any smoke aspect from this, I don’t know if that is good or bad?? MullMan (1088), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA

The aroma was lightly sweet and malty. The flavor was dry, tangy, nutty and slightly woody. There was a nice touch of smoke that did not overwhelm. The finish was medium length and dry with a lightly woody element. Interesting. Sammy (4070), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Taste is lightly sweet with a touch of vinous grapes and a slight hint of smoke. Overall, somewhat mild in body and flavor, but balanced and agreeable.
