Yummy beer, but hard to identify the style without seeing the write-up. I tasted a chocolately nutty flavor with an spiced twist at the end. My guess was this was a nut brown; perhaps peat imparts a nutty flavor? rocbyter (931), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Sampled at the Flour City Brewers’ Fest 2008. Magic Hat Jinx is a hazy amber ale with a huge, fluffy, cream coloerd head. The retention and lacing are excellent. It has a bready aroma with a touch of sweetness and roastiness. It is medium bodied, smooth and slightly metallic in the mouth. The finish is sharp. It has a well balanced flavor; slightly sweet with a touch of caramel and a slightly alkaline note. It beats #9. Id on’t taste the smoke at all. Enjoyable brew, not mind blowing, but quite nice. badnloose (99), North Hollywood, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2009 Smoked? Really? Too thin/watery for me to think of it as such. I got more of a vanilla/syrup kick out of it, probably from some caramelized malts. Enjoyable and drinkable, nonetheless. mribm (419), Hurley, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 1, 2003 12 oz. bottle. Poured a ruby brown color with barely any head. Had a malty maple nose. The taste had more malt and maple with a very, very slight smokiness. The finish was mainly sweet, with some hops added in for a nice bitterness. It hides the alcohol very well. I liked this beer, but was hesitant to buy it because Magic Hat didn't say what kind of beer was in the bottle. I don't like that with the Magic Hat beers.
