joeymacaroni (181), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 6, 2009 pours a beautiful deep amber color with a thick, quickly dissipating off-white head. tons of lacing. aromas of caramel, pineapple, and pine. flavor is heavier on the pineapple than anything, with a slightly nutty/piney caramel afterbite. long, smooth finish. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jun 5, 2009 Sampled from a 12-oz bottle during Dark Lord Day ’09 at table 1. Pours a semi-clear orange amber colored brew with an average off-whtie head that slowly dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of caramel malt with a stronger citrus and pine scent with a touch of apricot. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of caramel malt, citrus zest, a hint of peach/grapefruit and a touch of vulcanized rubber. Finish is semi-dry, mildly bitter with a lingering grapefruit and caramel aftertaste. Not an in-yer-face IPA but still in the right category. dnstone (135), , New Jersey, USA Jun 3, 2009 Nice color and maltiness. Pretty much an amber ale; would be nice with some more hops. 12 oz. bottle TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Jun 1, 2009 Draft at Beer Bourbon and BBQ Festival in Richmond VA on 5-30-09. Clear golden pour. Short white head. Citrus, toasted malt, hop resins and fruit (apricot) in the aroma and in the taste. Body is medium and slightly resinous. Ends with bitter hops, citrus notes, fruit and toasted malt. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Jun 1, 2009 Bottle - thanks beerbill. A muddy orange color with a small beige head. Aroma is more malty than hoppy; some breadiness, caramel, citrus, and light florals. Dry florals and some lingering citrus. The breadiness of the nose is a light presence, but mostly a sharp floral hoppiness takes over. Kind of unrefined. Ehh, I’ve had better. satan165 (541), River Grove, Illinois, USA May 30, 2009 nose of pine and light wood. flavor is similar, suprisingly good hop profile from magic hat of all people. pretty brown hue. one of the more drinkable magic hat offerings in my experience.
