WVHouseofBeer (341), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA May 22, 2009 Had a nice floral hop aroma. There wasn’t much flavor going on here, it had a little bit of a metallic taste to it. It was an okay brew, but not one of the better Magic Hats. Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA May 21, 2009 Aroma is crisp, hoppy, slightly fruity and slightly malty, inviting. It pours a clear, dark golden amber, almost coppery, with a very thick and rather persistent head that is fluffy and creamy off-white. Flavor is nicely hoppy, just a little bitter, with a hint of apple and a touch of malt. Texture is tingly and lively, and it goes down the pipes smoothly. A pleasant drink. beerandIT (177), Richmond, Virginia, USA May 21, 2009 Light to medium bodied. Some hops on the nose along with eh, thats about it actually. On the palate you get hops along with an almost sweetness. Not much though a very mediocore IPA. Maybe if there is nothing else around get this one. demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA May 20, 2009 12 oz bottle: Aroma is hops upfront but a grassy almost wheat scent intermingled, doughy. Appearance is an amber/golden color with a thick off white head that lingers for quite a long time. Taste is sweet, really subdued hop taste. The overall taste is unlike the aroma which was more powerful hop texture. After more sips the hops com through a little more, candy, and a strange wheaty texture to this brew. Palate is bitter on the tongue, mouth feel is quite carbonated and wet. Aftertaste has a lingering hop texture then disipates into nothing. Overall, a light wieght IPA in my honest opinion. Cheers! topherh (892), Kearney, Missouri, USA May 20, 2009 Pours brownish amber with a decent piney aroma. Flavor is not as hoppy as I thought it might be. Caramel and breadiness almost outshine the hops. The lighter side of an IPA BroSpud (586), , Massachusetts, USA May 17, 2009 Tasting at a beerfest [Disclaimer: This was tasted along with many, many other beers during a tasting at Julios. Some of the details are a little hazy]. Not impressed. tgncc (798), Bellmore, New York, USA May 15, 2009 Definitely not an imperial pale ale. Te aroma is pitch pie hops, sweet, bready. The appearance is a nice dark amber color, white head. The flavor follows the aroma, but is a little sweeter, more caramel, definite piney hops. The finish moves toward the piney hops bitterness, appropriate for the style. Decent and enjoyable IPA overall, if not great. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA May 13, 2009 This is surprisingly boring for an IPA. There’s a bit of caramel in the malt, but the flavor profile seems dulled. The hops come across as part of the sweetness instead of providing any significant bitterness or bite. This is a candied IPA.
