otismulligan (34), Yardley, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 22, 2009 bottle-pour into pint glass. couldy appearance, nice forthy head, somewhat doughy aroma. mild slight caramel flavor, good meduim body, not biting at all. very good all and all. msante79 (782), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Feb 21, 2009 12oz bottle from Orland Park Binny’s single rack. Aroma is mostly malt with some citrus and light hops. Flavor is malty and metallic with some hops. The fact they call this a IPA is a joke. If you don’t want to spend the money on high quality hops then don’t label your beer as an IPA when it is definitly a malty APA. I have had 3 beers from this brewery and they all have been disapointing. Thank god for single racks as if I would have bought a six pack of this shit I would be pissed. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA Feb 20, 2009 effervescent clear copper, respectable off-white head, lacy. aroma grapefuit and pine. flavor of caramel, light citrus hops, not as dominant as i would have thought from the nose. medium bodied, bitter finish. not as hoppy as i usually expect from an ipa. aroma more distinctive than the taste. bottle thanks to cornfield. MrBunn (1521), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 19, 2009 Bottle. Transparent and thin copper body with a pretty decent fluffy head. Aromas are weak... a bit of fruit and caramel is about all I pick up. Flavor is pleasant enough, but similar to the nose... I was looking for a little more. There are plenty of good hops to be found... pine, citrus and even some floral, but they don’t punch through the watery malt enough. I guess it’s not a total trainwreck and might even be a very good beer to introduce a buddy to the concept of an IPA without hitting them too hard. Tmoney99 (4656), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 19, 2009 Bottle from Keg Liquor, IN.
Poured clear copper color with a huge frothy off-white head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate earthy sweet citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Interesting brew that went well with spicy chicken wings. Shag (1922), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Feb 15, 2009 This poured a dark orange color with a rather large white head. The aroma contains some pine, caramel, and lemons. The flavor is slightly bitter with some caramel, lemons, and toffee notes going on. This is certainly more in the English IPA mold and is probably more like an ESB than anything. The finish is slightly sour. Overall not a bad beer but nothing to send to a hophead either. badnloose (99), North Hollywood, California, USA Feb 11, 2009 I don’t particularly like the majority of IPAs, but this did it for me. But I guess that’s because of everybody’s description of it: it’s a weak IPA. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Feb 6, 2009 Purchased at the Binny’s beverage Depot in Orland Park, Illinois: Nice pour, a clear golden orange body with a tall beige head and lots of lace. The aroma was a caramelly malt with light pine and grapefruit hop scents. There’s more hop bitterness than hop flavor in the taste, the candy caramel sweetness dominating. It does finish on a lingering, bitter note, albeit a mild one. Not a bad drink, but disappointing when expecting an IPA.
