| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2009 Bottle. Transparent and thin copper body with a pretty decent fluffy head. Aromas are weak... a bit of fruit and caramel is about all I pick up. Flavor is pleasant enough, but similar to the nose... I was looking for a little more. There are plenty of good hops to be found... pine, citrus and even some floral, but they don’t punch through the watery malt enough. I guess it’s not a total trainwreck and might even be a very good beer to introduce a buddy to the concept of an IPA without hitting them too hard. Tmoney99 (4716), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 19, 2009 Bottle from Keg Liquor, IN.
Poured clear copper color with a huge frothy off-white head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate earthy sweet citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Interesting brew that went well with spicy chicken wings. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 15, 2009 This poured a dark orange color with a rather large white head. The aroma contains some pine, caramel, and lemons. The flavor is slightly bitter with some caramel, lemons, and toffee notes going on. This is certainly more in the English IPA mold and is probably more like an ESB than anything. The finish is slightly sour. Overall not a bad beer but nothing to send to a hophead either. badnloose (99), North Hollywood, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 11, 2009 I don’t particularly like the majority of IPAs, but this did it for me. But I guess that’s because of everybody’s description of it: it’s a weak IPA. Cornfield (4926), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 6, 2009 Purchased at the Binny’s beverage Depot in Orland Park, Illinois: Nice pour, a clear golden orange body with a tall beige head and lots of lace. The aroma was a caramelly malt with light pine and grapefruit hop scents. There’s more hop bitterness than hop flavor in the taste, the candy caramel sweetness dominating. It does finish on a lingering, bitter note, albeit a mild one. Not a bad drink, but disappointing when expecting an IPA. PhatB420 (128), Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 6, 2009 This is a step down from HIPA, but the consistency is almost the same. I would enjoy more of a hop presence but then I would be drinking an HIPA, so for the sister IPA this wicked cat is not that bad. thenick (744), North Bellmore, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep orange with a fluffy off-white head. Aroma is pine and citrus hops. Taste is largely the same, with a slight malt characteristic mixing in toward the end. It’s a bit astringent, and not nearly as good as the Hi-PA.
