Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Jan 10, 2009 Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of citrusy and resiny. Tastes resiny and bitter with a dry malty finish. Another middle of the road inoffensive IPA. Jsawyer (282), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 10, 2009 Draft. Amber body with light head. Smells sweet like cotton candy, citric. Flavor is cotton candy, bitter citrus, resin, slightly orange and vanilla notes, strawberries. Very sweet and fruity overall. Finish is bitter and resinous, highly carbonated. I drank it really cold and it was good, not exactly what I’d designate as an IPA, but good. ROGUE (621), Newark, Delaware, USA Jan 8, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a nice rich orange color with a medium lived beige head. Smell is earthy, dusty and lightly citrusy hops and malt. Taste is dry, dusty and earthy bitterness from the hops and a hint of sweetness pokes through. Very earthy and dry though for the most part with a light orange citrusy quality. Good body with slightly high fizzy carbonation. Pretty solid IPA overall. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jan 8, 2009 Pours a murky amber orange with a two finger creamy offwhite head. The nose is fruity...rotten fruit, sweet, pine, citrus, strange. The flavor is astringent, rotten mango, very waxy and bitter, mildly sweet, not much balance. Man, gets really astringent and puckeringly bitter. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA Jan 4, 2009 Thanks to jah noth for the bottle. Pours a semi cloudy orange amber with a big off white head. Good retention, awesome lacing. Aromas of citrus, pine, resin, caramel malt and some cereal. Flavors are a nice balance between the hops and malt. Also some citrus, and caramel. Decent lasting bitter finish.
ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jan 3, 2009 Time for Magic hat to reconsider what direction they want this company to go. This is hardly a pale ale let alone an IPA. Caramel, corn and grassy hops. Watery and struggling with mediocrity kidrobot (63), Sparta, New Jersey, USA Jan 2, 2009 Nice bite and very tasty. Reminds of "Fat Angel" alot. One of my fav 6 packs to grab and goto a party with. dkachur (2317), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Dec 30, 2008 12 ounce bottle courtesy of beerbill. Thanks! Best by July 2008.
Pours a slightly hazy bronze color with a medium head. Decent
head retention and lacing. Very fruity hop aroma, especially
grapefruit and green apple. Taste is very bitter with grapefruit
and other hop notes as well as a hint of toffee. Medium bodied.
