NachlamSie (1631), Tennessee, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle best before February 2009. Pours a light copper with a good head. The aroma is sort of hoppy, but more fruity malts are present. Hints of apples, caramel, and a dash of wood are noted. The flavor is pretty light, though certainly hoppier than the nose. This seems to have an English character. Citrus is minimal and most bitterness is conveyed in a wooden fashion. The finish is drier and an apple sweetness is found throughout. This is nothing to write home about. It will do when there are no other viable alternatives. FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 27, 2008 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a huge orange-white head. The aroma was fairly strong fruity and floral hops. The flavor was sweet, malty and had fairly strong fruity and spicy hops. The beer turns a touch sour towards the finish. Better than the sum of it’s parts and nicely quaffable. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 26, 2008 Bottle... Lightly hazed golden/orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. Breadsy, black tea and mild grapefruit nose. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with prickly carbonation. Medium black tea and grapefruit bitterness barely outshines moderate toffee and biscuit sweetness. Lingering, moderately bitter finish. Thanks go out to beerbill for shipping the bottle my way! jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA Nov 26, 2008 on tap at hopcat. pours very clear amber color, very pretty beer. otherwise, very average. well balanced, slightly citrusy, but nothing very exciting... tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Nov 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours brown-copper with sticky beige head. The aroma is earthy and spicy hops, some caramel, a weird tar note, and rotting pine. The flavor is dusty bitterness, stale crystal malt, cigarette butts, and zinc. Dry, dirty finish. Not particularly good. mesperon (133), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA Oct 25, 2008 Clear amber/orange with thick head that leavestons of lace. Flowery /light woody hoppy aroma. Taste opens up with herby, grassy hops and a little roasted caramel malt. Finishes with an herby bitterness. Muh more malty than hoppy for an ipa, but good. zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Oct 22, 2008 (bottle - 12 oz) Orange pour with a puffy off-white head. Aroma is floral and hoppy with some bitterness mixed in. Some grass and a very light malt to it as well. Flavor begins with a nice hop burst followed by a grassy and flowery middle and a finish of light spices, some citrus, and a hop bitterness. Bitterness lingers for a bit then goes away leaving a crisp taste. Very nice. LyndaNova (492), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Oct 21, 2008 Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a medium orange color with a very little amount of alabaster bubbles.
