| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 4, 2008 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a deep amber or copper color with very good clarity. The head builds up tall and fluffy. Its head is just off white in color and leaves cool rings of lacing on the glass.
Smell: There is a big fruity hop aroma with some hints of citrus and pine.
Taste/Mouth feel: It starts with a doughy, sort of earthy malt with some mild sweetness and light caramel notes. Hop flavor slowly takes over with fruity, citrus and mild pine notes. Its hop flavor is very big and juicy yet bitterness is more modest making it very easy and fun to drink. The finish is semi-dry with a nice bitter fade. Its medium bodied with average carbonation and a slick easy drinking texture.
Notes: Wonderful flavor with judicious hoping and balance.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 30, 2008 (Bottle). Hoppy aroma. Clear copper amber in color, with a moderately large off-white head. This has a very strange flavor for an IPA. Much less citrus than expected. Instead, something on the sweeter side, can’t place it exactly. Finish is disappointing also, short and without much bite. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 30, 2008 Bright copper color with a tallish light beige head. Nice curtain of lace. Light orange, dry caramel and some pine wood aromas. I feel like I am in an old, dusty, cedar closet. Big caramel sweet start. Middle sweeps away sweetness with a moderate dose of citric hops. Some earthiness in both the hops and the malt. Sweetness weaves in and out. Dry toasted coconut in the finish. Linger is quite dry and fairly bitter. Actually the longer you wait between sips the more you realize the deep bitterness in this one. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear gold with a huge off white head. Aroma is citrus and floral hops. Flavor is not great. A good bitter finish is outdone by a horrid soapy flavor. TOSG55 (75), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours an amber orange with minimal head. Aroma of floral hops and a bit of soapiness. The flavor is similar; floral hops predominate, with a bit of breadiness also slightly apparent. The mouthfeel is rather bitter/astringent. A good beer, though I wouldn’t call it an IPA (more like an APA, really). It’s a bit reminiscent of the Alpha King, though certainly not as good. argo0 (6890), Washington DC, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 24, 2008 Had on tap. It smells mildly hoppy with a bit of citrus in there. It pours an amber color with a small head. It is smooth and a bit sweet on taste. Nothing outstanding here but nothing bad either.
