3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured a clear amber with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma was mainly of grapefruit, pine, and hops. Taste was strongly of citrus fruit, but followed with a strong taste of hops. A good amount of spices were present as well. Very drinkable overall, but not as good as roxy rolles.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Pizza Time in West Point PA. Pours a translucent amber with golden notes and an average creamy/bubbly off white head. Aroma of floral hops, pine, citrus notes and some caramel malt. Flavor of caramel malt, light hop bitterness and flavor, citrus and a little earthy. Not as holly as I like my IPAs

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: Pours a clear, amber body with a small, powdery, off-white head.
Smell: Pungent aroma of spiced citrus and flowers with a vague maltiness and small hint of biscuit crumbs.
Taste: A taste of toasted pale malts with a bit of hard candy sweetness. Citrus fruitiness with a light taste of spicy herbs. Just barely medium bitterness that rides out the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: An alright beer, that’s for sure, but if the hops and bitterness were any lighter, I’d have to remove the ’I’ from IPA.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a transparent bright copper bronze with a nicely-lacing froth of white head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty pale grainy malt and some lemony citrusy hops. Body starts semi-sweet with a decent bittering hoppy presence and some earthy notes before a drier toasty finish. Doesn’t have the big hop nose and assertiveness for an IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle from City Market in Burlington, VT (February 2008), served at cellar temperature in a Hair of the Dog glass. Clear bronze in color with a largish frothy off-white head that decays slowly and leaves thick lacing....pungent, spicy hops offer hints of wet cedar/pine resin, a bit of citrus, white pepper....the follow-through on the taste buds is solid, with light fruitiness offering just enough sweetness to counterbalance powerful dry woody bitterness up until the finish, which is quite sharp....could be a bit fuller overall, and the carbonation is a bit weak and diffuse; but IPAs and pale ales are something Magic Hat seems to be able to do pretty well, and this is no exception. A reasonable replacement for Fat Angel, I suppose.
