alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Aug 3, 2009 12 oz. bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours a clear amber color with a large off white head. The aroma is toasted bread with some citrus and pine hops. A bit of cattiness also shows up. The flavor is bready/biscuity malt with some caramel thrown in. Hops tend to the citrus and pine side with a slight floral quality. Some bitterness to the finish. This was decent, but unfortunately followed an unbelievable bottle of Westy 8. wingman333 (233), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 27, 2009 Reddish in color...a surprisingly good IPA. Piney, grapefruity, not too bitter. Roasted taste somwhat. Nice head, powdery almost. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jul 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear amber with an average, frothy, white head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grain, caramel, straw), heavy hop (pine, citrus, herb), average yeast (sweat) with notes of peach, apricot, and pineapple. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness. mpersinger (176), , California, USA Jul 17, 2009 Pours with amber with good clarity and small off=white head. Aroma is notes of pine of piss. Lacks hop flavor but finishes with some harsh bitterness. zapprentice (309), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 15, 2009 Not a fan of this one. Floral hops in the nose. Light sweet flavors with floral notes. Drew (2406), Kent, Ohio, USA Jul 14, 2009 Clear amber body, medium head and good lacing. Light orange citrus and caramel aroma. Taste has a nice caramel sweetness paired with a rounded earthy hop finish Avengedpoet (325), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jul 13, 2009 Pours a deep chestnut color. Aroma is full and malty...maybe a hint of earthy hops. Taste is centered toward the bitterness rather than flavor/aroma hops. An extremely well-balanced beer. Although I usually like to see bright hop flavor in IPA’s, this beer seems more english IPA in style in the sense that it is really hoppy, but the hops are another accent to the beer rather than the focus. An interesting IPA worth trying, though certainly not the best. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 12, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear light orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malt, light citrus, and floral hops. Flavor of sweet light fruits and sweet malt. Lightly hopped but definitely not very hoppy for an IPA. Still very drinkable.
