vyvvy (1689), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA May 1, 2008 On tap at Blind Tiger in NYC. Pours golden with a off-white head. The aroma has citric and tropical hops and small amount of malt. Medium body with normal carbonation for the style. The flavor has aroma traits, but mixes in some soapiness. Overall this is a pretty generic IPA that is just okay.
bsm80 (63), Massapequa, New York, USA Sep 6, 2008 Waaaay too hoppy for me. I can tolerate some IPAs but this was too unbalanced for my liking. crazyvin (1079), New York, USA Sep 5, 2008 pretty good, Poured a nice amber hue with a nice off white head that had mild retention. Aroma was a mix of hops and fruit notes, fruit notes were not of the citrus variety that i am used to. Flavor also had a balance between nice piney hope notes and a almost tropical fruit note. Finish was crisp, but the body could have had a little more "body" to it. rampmaster (144), Alden, New York, USA Sep 4, 2008 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a deep amber or copper color with very good clarity. The head builds up tall and fluffy. Its head is just off white in color and leaves cool rings of lacing on the glass.
Smell: There is a big fruity hop aroma with some hints of citrus and pine.
Taste/Mouth feel: It starts with a doughy, sort of earthy malt with some mild sweetness and light caramel notes. Hop flavor slowly takes over with fruity, citrus and mild pine notes. Its hop flavor is very big and juicy yet bitterness is more modest making it very easy and fun to drink. The finish is semi-dry with a nice bitter fade. Its medium bodied with average carbonation and a slick easy drinking texture.
Notes: Wonderful flavor with judicious hoping and balance.
tomthompson89 (1133), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 1, 2008 Holy crap if a hoppy beer was gonna kick me in the teeth i know its this one!!! wow hoppy nose body finish everything about this says hops, no balance but still fun DrDavid (200), , Vermont, USA Aug 30, 2008 (Bottle). Hoppy aroma. Clear copper amber in color, with a moderately large off-white head. This has a very strange flavor for an IPA. Much less citrus than expected. Instead, something on the sweeter side, can’t place it exactly. Finish is disappointing also, short and without much bite.
