BeerBaronLS (85), Grove City, Ohio, USA Jan 5, 2008 Got in the Mardi Gras variety pack. Light amber in color; malty in flavor with noticeable hop bitterness. I didn’t quite get the spice of a winter seasonal and as mentioned by other reviewers. Actually reminded me of AmberBock quite a bit, though a little better beer. Decent, but I wouldn’t seek it out.
Beerman6686 (816), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 31, 2008 Poured a dark ruby red color. Pretty clear with an off white head. Aroma was very sweet, not much wheat character at all, the candy sugar stuck out though. Flavor was much the same, very sweet and malty, not much wheat characteristics. Not a bad beer, just not much like a wheat. nick76 (2120), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 26, 2008 The aroma is very clean with pine hops, chocolate, and roasted malt. The appearance is red/brown with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with a bitter and toasty aftertaste. The palate is average. Overall a decent beer. Damico (50), Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 15, 2008 This was a very deep brown ale with a smooth body and flavor. It wasn’t too hopped up or filled with rich spices, just nice subtle flavors that a dark ale should have. The bottle label reminded of those decorated in Belgium for Christmas such as the Noels or the Still Nacht. gsmitty80 (550), Washington DC, USA May 27, 2008 This beer was very good. I am a fan of dark wheat beers and this fit the bill. A high alcohol content makes it a great winter seasonal. I hope it comes back around. Sammy (3242), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 16, 2008 on cask. So had light mouthfeel. Dark colour. Drinkable, average beer overall.
