[Bottle] Poured a very dark, almost black with a reddish tint with minimal head. Very interesting looking. Aroma was a little roasted coffee and some hops. Taste was very roasted, like a dark coffee with some hoppy kick and a touch of sweetness. Finish was crisp with one last mild hoppy kick. By far, my favorite from the Pandora’s Box sampler (2008).

Pours a nice brownish/reddish color with a decent sized tanish/off white head. Has a very inviting smell. A little hint of hops and chocolate/coffee. It has a very drinkably quality to it. Perfect for a spring/summer evening/night.

Pours a reddish brown with about a finger of light beige tan head. Coca and coffee odor. Taste is of burnt toast, chocolate, and coffee, with a slightly bitter hop aftertaste. A decent session beer, but nothing spectacular.

From a 12 fl. oz. bottle with an expiration date of Jul ’08. Pours more brown then red with a little bit of beige head. Kudos for the smoked, cocoa-like aroma. It was quite pleasing on the nose. Medium mouthfeel and bold. Flavor is sweet, malty, lightly spiced, and even a little fruity. It is complex but it is quite a likeable brew. I’ll have another (and I did).

Beer pours a good dark brown with a decent enough head. Interesting nose, very floral with malt present. Very complex, but a bit watery for my taste. Still not bad, but I am glad I got this in the variety back instead of six.

pretty good Irish beer, with some smokey notes, and lots of malt. much better than any macrobrews.

Taps at Capital Ale House. Clear dark amber brown with small white head. Aroma is lightly spicey with notes of cardamon and roast malts. Floral and fruity flavors with lots of cardamon. Lightly carbonated. Finish is moderatly dry with some lingering floral and spicey flavors. The spice in an Irish Red is a bit unorthodox but interesting anyway.

Courtesy of CigarCityBrew. Pours amber with off white head. The aroma is all over the place with rich roasty malts, sweet malts, licorice, flower pedals, nutmeg, cherries and picnic basket. Wow, lots going on. The taste starts rich sweet and roasty with mild berry fruitiness, some rounded off tartness, mild earthiness, honey, flower pedals, sweet licorice candy, dark hard candy and ending with mild malt sweetness and grainy maltiness. Everything comes together pretty nicely for me here. Yum.
