Tasted 4/28/08. 12oz bottle. Hazy with a ruby hue. Trace off-white head. Spicy aromas. What I thought to be nutmeg or clove was actually cardamom. Medium bodied and odd flavored. Bitter and tart. Just an odd beer.

(draft, thanks acrdz) Medium beige head with nice lacing atop clear copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, chocolate, toffee, light caramel. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, some caramel/toffee, light earthy. Light-medium body, light stickiness.

Bottle. Pours a ruby brown in color with a small white head. It has a very herbally nose. The flavor is very smooth and malty with a spicey finish. Quite good.

This is a dark brown beer with crimson red highlights and a thin off white head. The aroma and flavor are floral and herbal over a base of toasty and chocolaty malts. Its medium bodied with a smooth texture that finishes slowly with an herbal ginger like spicy fade. I really enjoyed the Odd Notion and will looking next spring if they bring it back.

A moderately heavy aroma of roasted malt, exotic spice, and licorice. Dark mahogany pour with a 1/2" thick khaki head and stringy lacing. Decent mouth feel, relatively thick upfront that soon fades to a fizzy finish. Pleasant aftertaste that is somewhat smoky. Flavor has a nice jumble of smoked and roasted malt with a fruity flowery aspect. A hint of chocolate and nuts. What a strange yet appealing flavor this brew has, the blend of dark malts and spicy fruity flowers is well received.

On tap at Smokin’ Joes. Spicy nose, with some ginger or allspice, an acidic currant-like smell and some mild brown sugar. Rootbeer brown, light haze, with thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Medium watery body with medium-heavy carbonation. Starts fairly dry, with a nice spicy, holiday ale profile. Nutty bitterness, sweet spicy clove and allspice. Mild brown sugar, cocoa powder, and cherry bark. Carbonic acidity, with light nutty-sweet-ginger after.

On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown. Clear amber body with a large creamy tan head. Sweet caramel and fruit aroma. Sweet grainy fruit flavor, light roasted malt and some spicy hints. Certainly odd for an irish red. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.
