COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique surprise cross-pollinates the classic American wheat beer with an American Pale Ale. What grows next is a fruitfully unfiltered union with a delightful hop aroma, a pleasant citrus hop flavor, and a beautifully balanced finish that leaves other ales hoppy green with springtime envy.

Pours gold with white head. Wheat, hop, floral citrus and honey aroma and flavors. Medium light body and average carbonation with a citrus finish.

Bottle from Magic Hat’s winter variety pack (labeled as "Encore American Wheat IPA"). Pour is clear copper with a one - finger head. Not much in the way of aroma; perhaps some subtle hints of citrus. Mouthfeel is rather thick for a wheat ale, buts it’s not unwelcome. Taste is wheaty with a slightly bitter, hoppy finish. Overall it’s tolerable but nothing to write home about.

Enjoyed at home after a week of being sick over the holidays. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a rich white head. Aroma is a nice mixture of wheat, clove, yeast. Taste is pretty good, nice notes of orange peel, wheat, citrusy hops, moderate carbonation. I'm a fan, good start to 2015 beers!

Bottle as Encore part of the mixed 12 pack. Pours hazy light gold with a white head. Nose is full of orange and orange peel. Moderate bitterness with some wheat. Light body, but somewhat watery.

Moderate hop aroma hides the stronger hoppy flavor that has a light bitterness. The bottle poured amber with a fair amount of head.

Pours a slightly orangey amber, somewhat hazy, with a huge, frothy, tan head that stays until politicians are honest! Thick, sticky lacing. Nose is malt and spunky citrus. Taste is fresh and balanced. Sweet backbone migrating to a nice grapefruity hop bite, trailing off to a orange zest finish. Medium bodied brew with lively carbonation. I like it.

Probably my favorite beer out of the Winterland 2014 pack. Smooth and sweet with a decent hop flavor. Light and refreshing. A good change this season.

Rated based on notes taken 4 Feb 2012 -- Very strong hop presence. Lots of aroma and flavor, almost zero bitterness. Enjoyable.

Bottle from sampler pack 2014. Citrus nose and medium body. Bites a bit at first with citrus rind feel but malt tries to mask it. Very dry and wheat adds a nice touch. Cuts thru the palate well. Decent but not amazing.

From 12 oz bottle, variety pack. Had this on a few other occasions and multiple 12 oz form this pack.

Aroma: Citra hops, Citrus

Appearance: Amber-Orange, Cloudy liquid, white head

Taste: Heavy Bitter

Palate: Light body, sticky texture, average carbonation, bitter finish

Overall: Citra hops and Wheat IPAs seem to be a thing here in Vermont. I prefer Zero Gravity’s Conehead IPA over Encore, but there’s a few similarities and key differences. Firstly, I do not like Citra hops - I must have burned out on it a few years ago when I loved them and homebrewed everything using them - now it just has this strange taste that I can’t get out of my mouth. The hops have a very strong bitterness, but a nice aroma. I’d prefer a little less bitterness from the hops. The malt and body is nice, I just don’t like the sharp bitterness. Not bad for a Wheat IPA.
