3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From the sample pack. Pours a cloudy brown/orange with off white head, slight lacing. Smell is sticky sweet caramel with splashes of sweet citrus. Taste is similar, but it is rather balanced with medium bitterness. Run of the mill. Palate comes of a bit more creamy than a typical IPA (perhaps the wheat).

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2014 Good for an IPA...mildly fruity, good flavor but also not too hoppy at all...ok for a beer in general but even better for an IPA x2

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. Pours hazy orange with a medium, creamy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is earthy and spicy wheat malt, herbal and spruce hops with citrus notes, apple and pear esters. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, light earthy and spicy wheat and cereal malt with fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Encore. A hoppy wheat beer or a wheaty IPA? Either way, the hops overwhelm the weak body, and the wheat tang exacerbates the harshness of the hops. Lots of flavor - piney citrus - but my favorite flavor. Probably better in summer where it can refesh.

Pours a hazy orange with smallish white head. Aromas of citrus and bread. Nice balance of sweet and bitter. Enjoyable, well-made beer.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. bottle, bottle called "Encore: American Wheat IPA". Appearance: cloudy golden color, white sticky head, great lacing, lasting head. Aroma: citrus, resin, floral, caramel, wheat. Palate: light body, sticky texture, average carbonation, very bitter finish and lasting. Taste: almost no sweetness, light, subdued bitterness, building to strong bitterness, and then finishing with remaining strong bitterness and a little metallic taste. Overall, pretty disappointed in this beer. There is no balance to the hops it seems and the metallic finish is a real put off. I like the idea of the style, but this is just not done very well in my opinion.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a half finger of head on a hazy dirty straw colored body.
The aroma is mild grapefruit, not much else.
The taste is a nice pine bitterness that tapers off. Simple but good.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
A fairly easy drinking IPA.
