This unique surprise cross-pollinates the classic American wheat beer with an American Pale Ale. What grows next is a fruitfully unfiltered union with a delightful hop aroma, a pleasant citrus hop flavor, and a beautifully balanced finish that leaves other ales hoppy green with springtime envy.

Bottle from Foods Plus, Plaistow NH. Aroma is resin hops. Appearance is hazy golden orange with minimal head with minimal retention and insignificant lacing. First blast of taste was of cat-box but then never got that again. Was lightly bitter. Palate is medium bodied with average carbonation and mild bitter finish. Overall, a slightly above middle of the road IPA.

Hazy bright orange-amber with a lasting off-white, moderately lacing head. Aroma of honey, bread, and fallen leaves with a touch of citrus. Taste is hoppy wheat; grainy and a little fruity and more bitter than sweet. Light-medium bodied and slightly dry.

Bottle from F&E: Aroma is faint with a light smell of grains, honey, and touch of hop. Appeared a dark golden honey color liquid while there was a monstrous development of foam head on top. The drink is bitter at first from a modest hop profile, but then delivers a shocking flavor of tartness as if eating unripe fruit. The taste of the beer almost comes across as offensive because of a putrid flavor from the wheat grain used. The aftertaste tasted like paper money. Yuck!

One of the better Magic Hat beers Iíve tasted in a long time. Nice combination of a wheat and a pale ale. I tasted a lot of fruity notes, along with citrus, light hops, grass, a hint of banana and some spices.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a slightly hazy dark orange with a half finger white head. Aroma of orange citrus and wheat. Taste is light bitter. Herbal hops with some orange peel and pine in the finish. Surprisingly good.

Bottle at Bobís indirectly from Steve. Pretty decent magic hat. Nice body, bright fresh taste, plenty of citrus, a bit of hoppiness, nice body, liked it, would actually try it again.

Pours a hazy amber from a bottle. Kind of a weak IpA with a wheat afterthought.

Bottle from Magic Hatís winter variety pack (labeled as "Encore American Wheat IPA"). Pour is clear copper with a one - finger head. Not much in the way of aroma; perhaps some subtle hints of citrus. Mouthfeel is rather thick for a wheat ale, buts itís not unwelcome. Taste is wheaty with a slightly bitter, hoppy finish. Overall itís tolerable but nothing to write home about.

From 12 oz bottle, variety pack. Had this on a few other occasions and multiple 12 oz form this pack.

Aroma: Citra hops, Citrus

Appearance: Amber-Orange, Cloudy liquid, white head

Taste: Heavy Bitter

Palate: Light body, sticky texture, average carbonation, bitter finish

Overall: Citra hops and Wheat IPAs seem to be a thing here in Vermont. I prefer Zero Gravityís Conehead IPA over Encore, but thereís a few similarities and key differences. Firstly, I do not like Citra hops - I must have burned out on it a few years ago when I loved them and homebrewed everything using them - now it just has this strange taste that I canít get out of my mouth. The hops have a very strong bitterness, but a nice aroma. Iíd prefer a little less bitterness from the hops. The malt and body is nice, I just donít like the sharp bitterness. Not bad for a Wheat IPA.

Enjoyed at home after a week of being sick over the holidays. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a rich white head. Aroma is a nice mixture of wheat, clove, yeast. Taste is pretty good, nice notes of orange peel, wheat, citrusy hops, moderate carbonation. I'm a fan, good start to 2015 beers!
