COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique surprise cross-pollinates the classic American wheat beer with an American Pale Ale. What grows next is a fruitfully unfiltered union with a delightful hop aroma, a pleasant citrus hop flavor, and a beautifully balanced finish that leaves other ales hoppy green with springtime envy.

In the bottle from Leukens Liquors. Pours a cloudy golden color with a medium white head. Doughy aroma is very yeasty with a touch of orange blossom. Very much a Belgian wit with a strong coriander flavor. Fizzy palate. Finishes quite mild.

Bottle and served in standard pint glass: Slightly hazed light golden hue with a fading fizzy head and some lace. The weak aroma has notes of pale grains and some wheat, light herbal and fruity hops, soapy yeast esters and a hint of pepper and clove. The taste is a slightly hopped up crappy American wheat with no interesting character. While there is some fruity and bitter notes, they fade far too quickly leaving you a muddled wheaty and yeasty finish that is quite boring. Just like the beer before it, there is some sourness creeping into the flavor profile and makes me question the quality control of this brewery once again. The mouth feel is about the best aspect of this brew, lively and crisp enough to enjoy while the husky finish is not too bothersome. Why do I keep buying beer from this brewery? Only a few have they ever met expections... (Hint, maybe you all want to ask Three Floyds how to do a hoppy wheat ale)

KajII (782) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - JUN 6, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2012 Bottle. The pour was a rich golden honey color with a large (2-3 finger) rocky white head that mostly diminished into a fluffy puddled residue that created excellent sheets of lace on the glass. The aroma upfront was bold and hoppy of a citrus hop, a straw like malt and a moldy yeast with a notes of caramel, citrus (grapefruit) and a decent dose of wheat. The taste was very yeasty and a bit malty with a note of caramel from the onset. It then progressed into a nice bitter hoppy flavor with a strong citrus note and a bit of wheat at the end. The flavor lasted an average amount of time after the swallow, allowing for the hoppy grapefruit taste to linger on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was a bit heavier than light in body with a nice dry texture and a prickly carbonation. Overall an IPA with a really nice wheat characteristic and a wonderful hoppy aftertaste.

Light like a Belgian cloudy with a thick fine head. Light aroma and a slightly tart flavor.

Bottle from the Eastchase Majestic. Orange yellow pour with a white head. Aroma is pretty weak. A little bready and hoppy. Taste is hops, citrus, and grains.

UPDATED: JUN 15, 2010 Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a medium white head. Odd (as per name) collection of characteristics: citrusy hop aroma; generically fruity malt flavor; a bit of pepper and clove; quite a lot of sourness in the middle; a long, bitter, dry finish. I didnít get much wheat in this beer. I liked it a lot, but Iím not sure why.

On tap for growler fills at Half Time. Pours a hazy amber gold with a large white head. Light wheat, some musk, and a faint citrus zest note. Thin and watery, not living up to the nose, which wasnít overly promising to begin with. Sweet. Finishes up with a grainy weird bitterness, more musty musk, and a bit of a vegetal note.

Pours hazy yellow gold with a white head. Aroma is banana, bubble gum and citrus. Flavor is light crisp wheat with a nice bitter finish and a little citrus that shows up more as you drink. Not bad, an easy drinking hoppy wheat brew.

Pours a light golden with little carbonation. Aroma is of wheat. Initial flavor is bold but finishes light. Wish it had a tad more hop..
